I have Brickrepper taking the win here. For me, his bar seemed fresher and flowed smoother than Students, which the multi useage and syllable count from line one to line two killed the flow by the time we get to the multi rhyme, which made the entier bar seemed awkward. Fairs in, best of luck to whoever goes through.

This was more of an intellectual battle than a hard-hitting battle. Stu, nice concept with James River being in Virginia, although the punch itself wasn't a major haymaker. Same with you Brick, the concept was great, but I have questions as to whether it translates well as a hard-hitting punchline. Had to choose one of you but this is close enough that it could have gone either way. Good battle guys.

Goodluck Brickrepper!

Expo: The James River is in Virginia and it runs side to side, across the whole state.

i felt stu had the better wording here while brick the better punch with a lil reach in his set up but the wordplay was alright for me. overall imma go with brick here coz i liked his approach better, while the jame river bit was a lil too random and wasn;t really working too much for me.

Tough call, I'm going to give this to Brick on the basis of creativity. Delta fly is a super stretch in the context in which its used grammatically, though. Student had a solid bar, but, I don't know man. It's geography. That sort of esoterisism makes the punch a bit muddled to me in comparison to the less technical but easily recognizable references of the opponent.

Bricks are also laid side by side and across, just saying.

One was too much of a reach imo, which cost him the battle. The other didn't really hit too hard but came across cleaner & overall a bit better.

I think Brickrepper was conceptually well ahead here as far as the complexity he tried to put in the bar, but wasn't really able to pull it off without massive reaches and poor wording in both a gramatical and logical sense. Stu on the other hand just had extremely basic punches, although they were executed cleanly. That made this a tough battle to vote on, but I have my winner. GL to whoever advances!

Student, really lackluster execution here hurt you super bad. Too much space between your too short multis. Also felt the reference might be too obscure and was only mildly clever. Brickrepper, a lot of problems here too. The wordplay "current delta fly response" doesn't work both ways grammatically, stu word is / stewardess is a reach because of the last consonant (s/z), and why would a flight attendant be texting directions anyway? Not something I've heard of. Also, cap your multis please. Still, I have Brickrepper edging this although it's a hard choice. Felt like he put more effort into his bar and tried to push the envelope whereas Student lacked any kind of oomph behind his line. Fair's in.

Both showed creativity here. I thought both bars were well written. Im going with brick on this one, even though the wp was a lil iffy i thought he delivered the stronger punch here.
