very very entertaining battle here. i felt those vigilante justice, crab, work's different and the curve shit was the best ones from riep while the dropped on the first (just that line), affair voters to the pull em on the net bit was the best ones from bleu for me. made me LMAO mad lol. Overall a GC finals worthy battle and str8 heat. overall imma have to edge this one to rieper for the higher number of good punches here. nothing negative about both here for me. one just edged it is all imo. dimed by both.

Rieper: I think you started off with a solid string. you got pretty invested in the nameflips bars. Liked all of them except cancer. I think it just got old for me then? Punch was ok but damn lol. Take a swing sort of bars I'd usually categorize as played but the Astro node scandal put a fresh spin on it. Closing bar (although light) connected to the punch before it and was solid. I don't see glaring errors and the verse looks tidy. Punch strength might decide it. Loved the Opening bars along with the Astro punch.

noir: damn that opener stung. Now that affair punch was nicely crafted and well executed, great idea too. Now some folks could argue it's tiny reach but I think the weight of the ideas connecting outweighs that. Nice. The palm bit was good... Nowwwww that closer I hate to say was played imo. I think the personal angle you took gives the bar merit but I can't completely call it a great bar despite that and good execution.

you guys put in some work here with all the personal angles. Super hard to judge after solid showing from both aside from minimal personal taste. Honestly... I think I'm throwing this to Rieper because Noirs closers were a bit too long winded for the power it had despite good execution and personal sting. Greatly enjoyed this one and it took me awhile of reading to decide. Good luck to winners. You both are easily top5-10 OF ALL TIME and it was a classic bout for sure. Fairs in

Bro this battle was straight nasty. I honestly had to read this a few diffrent times. I thought ones punches were a little more creative here and that surprises me tbh. Thought both definitly flowed pretty nicely also. Im giving this battle to the style i liked a little more and the more creative barz to me overall. Very good battle.fellas farealm My fair vote is tossed

Since this is a GC final, it obviously deserves an in-depth expo. I'll go through both verses bar-by-bar before giving my overall thoughts.

Rieper: The opener was alright. The reference was decently incorporated into the bar, but it wasn't super clever. Felt like this would've been better off in the middle of the verse rather than as a first impression. Second punch I think was obscure but it worked and started a nice sequence of personals. I loved the backmasking concept although calling it "Satan's input" I thought was slightly weird. Cancer bar continued the heavy personal angle and was a solid concept on its own. 9 to 5 was pretty good; a personal on a different angle but personal nonetheless although the angle isn't as incisive. The closing two bars were okay conceptually; I liked the first one more than the second. A great third personal angle to take, to.

Overall, I felt that the concepts and execution in this verse were good, but not great. There weren't any bad lines in this verse but also not any concepts that would have been super hot if not for being personal. But personals are exactly what I want to see more of on LB and you delivered here. I guess this is the only way that Bleu's misbehavior is ever going to come back to bite him. Really strong verse.

Bleu: Government assistance would've been an alright concept to turn into a bar of its own, and as a setup it was great. Then the go on strike bar wasn't doing it for me, not least because I used a strike / not working concept against Rieper in the quarter-finals. Next bar was two consecutive reaches. Appaul Peers, Scammer / A Paul Pierce Scammer is already an iffy wordplay, and why would anyone be cheating him? Plus, 8 Mile doesn't have a Director's Cut edition so you were just making shit up. Then you had a whole bunch of Rohaan / Natalie lines, which is an angle that's been taken more times than I care to count at this point, not to mention that Esso riffed on the same thing just in the previous round. Unlike Lock's personal angles, which were really incisive, the angle you took here made all the bars on it fall flatter than they would have otherwise. Affair voters club flowed really well but the concept was meh. Right hand was ok as a concept. The closer also flowed really nicely but it took too long to get to the end, and even though it had a bunch of relevant setups, it still finished with an overdone fish / net punch.

Overall, this verse had some good qualities to it like the dope flow, and it had some nice punches, but the faults were just too obvious. So I'm going with Rieper here for dropping a verse which was more incisive and didn't have as many clear problems. Honestly I think this was a disappointing battle for a GC final, but especially from Noir. Fair's in.

I felt like the truth really hurt the loser here, he may have called it one thing, but the real call it being exposed. My winner came proper. Fairs in

Jeez guys lol this is close too. Similar to the audio both had highs and lows. Really liked the 9-5 concept from Lock and the Affair club from Noir. I think Noir rode the Roh scheme too long which hurt imo, Lock covered a bit more ground. If i had a graph to show my vote, it would have Noir hittin higher highs, but Lock staying consistant for longer. Hard to explain but i got 8-8 Lock. Dope battle. 1/

Quick little vote on my phone since this battle is still begging for votes. Got Rieper edging this one out. His lines were super clean overall with maybe the boondock saint one being kinda weird wording wise but overall everything was clean and fresh and hit. Not a lot of haymakers but solid hits. Bleu swung for more haymakers but imo had a lot more misses. Appaul peers scammer was hella awkward wording and not great concept to begin with. Same with "affair voters club". Cmon. Plus from what I can gather, all these Rohan personals have been done a million times against Lockhart so it's just not super fresh and a lot of bleus verse was on that topic. Good little read overall but seen both do a lot better as well.

Dope verses on both sides, I'll keep this brief because it would take too long to go over line by line and I already took a while trying to determine a winner. Basically it came down to my winner took this with an overall harder hitting verse, loser spent too long on a played personal which cost him. Also big shoutout to both of y'all to making it to both the audio & text finals.
