Expo: He's used 'plug' lines several times since I've been back.

Rohaan Rane disrespected the hell out of this man and he didn't ever take revenge

While I wasn't active he lost to Row and quit the site

You add more base (cocaine) when producing crack if it's watered down

This was an entertaining battle, lads. Both have decent bars here in this one. I feel that Lock stayed on the same concept a bit too much here and that hurt him. Esso has more concepts in his piece which made for a stronger impacting piece overall. This could go either way, fairs in. Best of luck to who ever goes through. 8-8

Damn excellent showing from both. Bout as good as text battling gets so I'm throwing dimes for the culture. There was a bar or two in each verse that I didn't feel but not by much. Solid overall. I pretty much had to go for punch strength line for line and one had an edge over the other by 2-3 punches. Good shit legends.

both had huge amount of personals in their respective verses which i personally always look forward to in a verse always along with humour. Both were mostly on par and only differed in one or two occasions where i felt Esso had the upper hand which is making me lean his way here but not by much his opener handle row and closer were his storng points mainly while along while the harry potter and wind turbine lines were Rieper's.

This is a banger from both. Both got a bit personal and had some nice concepts but im edging this slightly to Esso for a few lines i liked a touch more. Great fuckin job both tho. 9-9 Esso.

Alceon vote deleted due to VP glitch. I'll ask him to revote on a multi 8-8 Rieper.

Riepers multies had more impact, and the read was smooth. No h8 where esso failed, was just in his punches. Some of his setups felt a bit rushed, but overall they were nice, but the punches didnt sting as much, where riepers multies were on point and painful. Fairs in. Good luck guys.

This was definitely a super dope one. Got this one edging out to Rieper. Both had some personal angles, Rieper's were fresher/more recent/newer from what I can tell. Multi wise Esso was prolly a tiny bit smoother. Esso had a lot of huge haymakers that I was really feeling, but I think his "set up punches" kind of hurt him here as they were in some spots a lot simpler. It's a trade off, schemeing the 4 lines and having the first punch kind of lead into the main punch, it gives the main punch some more continuity and strength, but it's risky in that the pre-punch could have just been it's own independent really good punch, if you feel me. Sometimes that shit works really well, but in this battle where I felt Rieper was coming super consistently with solid-to-great punches every time out, it made Rieper just look stronger punch wise overall, IMO. So with all that in mind that's why I got this a 9-9 edge to Rieper. But wouldn't be surprised to see it go Esso's way at all.

I edited my comment and took some chunk out. What it said was that rieper was also doing the 4 line scheming on a single concept, but his 1st and 2nd punch on the schemes were about the same strength, so it felt more consistent. Which made rieper look stronger punchwise imo. Basically says the same shit but just confused as to how that got cut out lmao

Read this through 3 times and came to a conclusion. Wasnt easy to come too as you both had some tight shit as well as each had one part I wasnt feeling that much. Essos opener wasnt hitting real hard for me cuz the personal of "lock acting hard = lock spitting drug dealing bars" angle just didnt ring true for me. The punch was ok however. The rest of the personals were nice and while lock also came with some nice personals that carried weight, essos just felt more aggressive and damaging to me. Locks verse read very smooth. The parseltongue line was dope. Wiped with his own shit was dope. I wasnt a huge fan of the closer.  This was tough but I have esso edging this and the deciding factor for me was really the impact of the personals.  Good luck to both.

Good battle here one edged with harder bars. More consistent. Thought there were some dope lines from both but enjoyed ones better here. Fairs in goodluck to both

i think both typed this prett y dimilarly but in a good way, sounded like a real battle league battle and was organized. Rieper i think ur best was the Parseltounge line was pretty dope, and Esso the fountain line also pretty dope. Very close but I have one slightly edging this. but both were nice nonetheless. Fairs in. GB.

I thought this was pretty close. In terms of execution I think it was almost perfectly even, with Esso maybe leading by a cunt hair, but because of that I'm going to focus on concepts instead.

Rieper I think had a pretty weak opener with a generic diss that was partially not even aimed at Esso. I get that guts is something of persona non grata on the site these days, but come on. The Dollar Shave Club line was pretty clever although I'm not totally sold that Esso actually bit it. I remember that accusation. The Deprimo line was a nice personal but pretty obscure; Deprimo isn't like Alohomora or Avada Kedavra where everyone who's seen or read Harry Potter knows what it is.  Parseltongue was a lot more relatable but also pretty basic for a GC semifinal, especially when you consider how many Ess/lisp bars people have dropped.  The whole recycling scheme was really well-done and there's a part of me that wants to give Esso an auto-L for it, but I'll leave that decision to the staff lol. The wind turbine punch was really clever despite what looks like a typo ("roughs draft" instead of "rough drafts"), and the mortgage ya future reference was dope along with the closer. Overall, this verse had some slip-ups but the conceptual level was great.

Esso, I didn't particularly like your opener either. You mention him 'talking about plugs' with no setup mentioning why he would be talking about plugs, and then you expo it by saying he's mentioned plugs in bars before, but there's no specific link to where he's mentioned plugs and there's no reason why anyone would know that. The concept itself is clever but the way it's set up completely falls flat. However, you redeemed yourself somewhat with the Fountain line which was an extremely clever and well-prepared shortbar, the kind of stuff I wish I could write more consistently. Aaaand then you had to jump right off of a cliff with a whole long scheme about Rohaan and him being in the military, which has been done more times than the number of children that Rohaan has fucked, and even though this was pretty nicely written, it still came off as overdone and tacky. The punches weren't original enough to make this work. The Command the Boat bar was lackluster because the wording didn't quite work both ways and the concept wasn't particularly hard-hitting. It was clever but not super-clever. I wasn't feeling the ball was in your court line at all. I liked the Confidence is Muted bar, although saying someone's "confidence" is muted by turning off the sound doesn't really make sense if you think about it from a purely logical perspective, this still worked acceptably. The closer was another nice shortbar, not as good as the Fountain line but still alright.

In the end, I think Rieper won this with a higher level of punches. Esso had the bar of the battle (Fountain) and some solid impacts of his own, but he didn't keep pace with Rieper here, which surprised me. Fair's in.

My bad i got to this late. I didnt know the battle was closing so soon. Although if i were able to vote. I would have voted for Rieper due to his punches being more clever and simply having more punches in his verse. Esso that Fight your own battles bars was some crack sauce playa. Good Shit. As for the Row bar...i used something like really similar, so for me...that knocked off some points. Anyways, Great battle.
