Good read here from both. Both had good concepts that they executed nicely. FOr me, one was ahead with his punching impact in comparison to the others. Good luck to whomever goes through, fairs in, i'm out.

GL Rieper!

Expo:

Google staph infection if you don't get the opener

The 2nd ammendment to the US Constitution protects gun rights and is frequently just called "the 2nd", Lock has lost the most finals of anyone in LB history

The Houston Texans are a US football team who recently had a big lead in a game then blew it and lost (something they apparently do a lot)

The next line is a joke about CakedOut making threads about hate voting whenever people vote against him (no h8 Caked, just joking)

In the previous tag tourney he tagged with Shodan but only wrote 4 lines the whole tourney and Sho being "racist" was a major topic in that final

Please IM me if you need clarification on anything else!

Real good spar here. I thought Kiwi's opener and Locks closer was pretty long and weak for me. The rest of boths verses was real good tho. This is tough as fuck, i think one was literally a TINY bit more consistant. Fuckin close. 1/

Both verses solid but Kiwi had some TINY minor faults plus couldn't match the intensity of one major punch in my eyes. I'm giving this to Riep. Dope battle, I'd say battle of the tourney so far

I'm gonna have to give this to rieper for creativeness and flow. The personals from kowo were just not doing it. His setups took a longer to get to punch that wasnt as fulfilling. Fairs in. Good luck guys.

This one became apparent to me after the 2nd read.

Both had some haymakers. Punch wise, there wasn't any low lights here. Both come with roughly the same amount of personal punches, as well. (Which is sometimes a difference maker especially when the punch quality is equal between the two). Overall punch highlights probably goes to Rieper, with all that MGS shit.

So, what really helped me make my decision were these 2 things.

Slightly smoother schemeing from Rieper, namely that whole wrote for mes a mistake up to the closer was all schemed very smoothly and had some very very hard lines. Kiwi had some rhymes that just felt a little off like LOCK EGOS GETTING and MOSQUITO NETTING, when read a loud (to me) they sound very different. If you splice syllables it works, but, MOSQUITO is just said alot differently than LOCK EGOS. Also, the inner rhyming on the closer (starting from GET TO FRONT YA GANG N) was choppy as it was done in a ABBCCA pattern. Not very palatable.

The 2nd reason was something minor but it matters in a tight battle. And that's that Kiwi's whole first line has its own rhyme scheme but no punch. I get that its a set up into the staff infection line, but having 2 rhymes without a punch and then switching to a new rhyme for the punch that was related to the old lines is just a bit, odd. I felt like it took impact off for sure.

So for these reasons I went with Rieper. Fairs in.

This was super close. Think both probably had just 1 bar each that that didn't connect as well as their others. The rest of their verses were pretty well executed and creative. Basically a back and forth battle. I have Riep sliding by by just a nudge. I think in comparison, he had a bar or two with a higher elevation but the rest of both verses were pretty even.

Good battle here. Lock was swinging often. It was all technically well executed and early it was ok....but from the hospice care  punch to the cruise control bar that shit was hitting especially hard. Familiar concepts, personal angle, creative. Woulda flipped the order of the satellite and hypochondriac punches cuz the latter hit harder but that's nitpicking. The Raiders bar was your low point. Kiwi tried to establish the personal tone of his verse early on but took an awful long time to get to a somewhat lackluster staff wp punch. You had some good hits too though. 2nd amendment line, Caked Out line was funny and the closer was cool. Low points were the first two punches. And unless you have proof or are super super creative, in a battle of this magnitude gay jokes aren't gonna get the job done, especially against a guy like Lockhart. Lock had the better verse overall, more consistent impact and more creativity here.

Closer battle than expected. But, one took this with an onslaught of punches that resonated better with me conceptually. While the other, though having technical skill, just touched on a couple of subjects that were a little bland, and uncreative for me.(E.G. calling your opponent gay.) which detracted slightly from their verse for me. 7-7 Rieper.

Rieper's verse here was just about the most flawless thing I've ever seen on LB. Like yeah I've seen verses which hit harder, but I don't think there was a single thing in this verse which I could point to and say "naaaah." Every punch was clever and some were really hot, like the perfectly executed hypochondriac punch and the buttery Oakland / Psycho Mantis scheme.

Kiwi was throwing strong punches back to back also, but didn't have quite the same consistency as Rieper, in that I can point to some flaws in this verse. Like the opener took too long to get to the punch and was awkward to read because it used two separate schemes, plus, the wordplay as really simple and what is a 'staff infection' exactly? Understandable, but a little forced. The mosquito netting concept was really clever and not badly executed, but it didn't have the same perfect readability that permeated Riep's verse. Same with the blowing a lead bar. Another thing is that you didn't keep any scheme in this verse for very long and seemed to have problems even staying in the same scheme for a whole bar. I also didn't feel like you had any punches that were excellent, even though they were all at least ok, compared to Lock's heaviest punches.

Both sides put up a good enough but in my opinion this isn't a tough call. Good luck to whoever advances. Fair's in.

Lock your opener was okay and the punch that followed was cool too, you took off after that. The hospice line the cruise control punch all the way to the closer was FIRE

Kiwi the staph infection punch was dope, that was my fav from you, you had some more moments like the mosquitto netting bar which was flames. I thought the centre of the earth bar was just okay, but your closer hit. Oh and the cakedout line was funny.

This shit is close. My winner was a tiny bit more entertaining and creative. Fairs in. 8-8.

Good battle fellas! Rieper your opener was good, the whispers to flat lines was fire asf. I tried looking up the battle to feel the personal more but I couldn't find it. Still dope bar if it is. The rest was cool, enjoyable. The multis in the control when he is in the game is weird. I see a lot of capping mid word, but it seems forced to me. Other than that it was a good verse.

Kiwi, the staff infection was sick W/p, I dug it. Good opener. The repellent line was sick too. Now the 2nd /gun rights bar was the BOTB. Well executed and hit. The rest was cool man, but that iron to the center of the earth is a bit played but Just like repiers, enjoyable. The only thing I'd say is some places I got lost on the flow of things.

So this was an overall good battle. It's pretty much a close battle, rieper came real strong in the beginning but started to fade later in the rounds,  the same for kiwi, but they both were good. It comes down to the better of the best bars. So my vote goes to the stronger punches

Real dope battle here fellas! There was some highlights in both verses, but there still gotta be a winner lol. With that being said, I got Rieper edging this with more consistency with the punches. Kiwi...i felt that you came off real light in the beginning. It kinda dragged on to get to the punch. Definitely surprised me with the bars though. Your elevation has really impressed me

Rieper had a an overall solid verse bringing his A game with his general structure of personals with a few sports, movies and video game bars. loved the satellite bit. not sure if burn a bigger body is quite as smooth as u intended it to be tho. Overall i dnt think i quite got what you meant in most of your bars coz i couldn't resonate with most of them current affair references while i really liked Kiwi's gun rights and cakedout bar (which was the BOTB for me) centre of the earth shit too was good too and makes me think he got this hands downs but then i didn't understand or vibe with most of riep's bars so imma refrain from voting here.
