Is it automatically granted?

Tight. I can post tonight if you can, but don’t mind waiting another day if the extension allows.

To me this was the best battle.in the 2nd so far. both followed the scheme pretty well. rieper was really good and had some very nice lines. I also liked wonderbred thought he was pretty creative here to. I'm giving it to the one with the better punches here. my vote is in good battle fellas. Dropping fairs only

Wow this was a hard one to call. Definitely the best battle yet of the tournament imo. I felt this battle was a clash of styles of diss – Wonderbred had a very visceral, personal verse whereas Rieper came with much more wordplay/metaphor based verse aiming to make a mockery of his opponent. I'm a huge fan of both when it comes to battling so I wouldn't make the call on a stylistic preference, meaning I tried to weigh up who did a better job of the style they were attempting to pull off.

Wonderbred, up to the LUCK OF THE DICE line your verse had some solid wordplay and nice internal rhymes. Your opener was the best example of wordplay in your verse I felt, although at times some of your internal rhyming wasn't 100% convincing and your punches after that seemed a little basic. Then up to the NUTS IN A VICE rhyme was an extremely cohesive and had some fantastic, well-set-up wordplay leading to some vicious punches. Very personal and idk the facts here but taking it at face value this was very hard-hitting, imo one of the 2 botbs was the Uncle Sam one. The end portion of your verse didn't hit as hard but the closer had some internal/external multi combos I really appreciated.

Rieper your verse focused more on being a technically excellent verse equipped with a barrage of wordplay, flips and metaphors than personally bringing down your opponent. It did a fantastic job of this, the CLUTCHIN' HIS SIDES lines were phenomenal and hard-hitting; and I also felt your closer was one of the two botbs. The opener seemed to be a pretty hard-hitting personal (again idk the facts so I'm just taking it at face value) but other than that the rest of the verse was pretty consistent, similar in style and quality.

I also thought it was important to consider both verses on a purely rhyming-based level since this is a scheme battle. Initially I thought the prevalence of internal-rhymes in Wonderbred's verse would hurt him, but then I counted the number of times each emcee used the actual scheme and it was basically the same, so since they were equal on this and Wonderbred had more internal rhyming on a general level of rhyming Wonderbred was ahead. However, Rieper re-used the same words to make the scheme much less frequently than Bred, which meant Rieper was ahead on the scheme side of the rhyming, and overall they were level on this front.

Two styles were present in this battle. One emcee did one really well to a great degree and the other with some great lines and some average; the other focused on doing the other really well and did a little bit of the first style really well but not much. I decided to give the win to the former rather than the latter. Close battle, good luck to both, nines all round.

Good battle here, both showed up. WB - I think your wording hurt you here. You've got a lot going on in some of your bars & IMO if you cut some words out to tighten up the flow then that would make a big difference. You stuck to the scheme well & went w a heavy punch approach still, I just think your opponent had the cleaner verse while staying on the same consistency level. It was a good read, good job. / Rieper - Like I already said, IMO you had the cleaner verse here. You also had a few bars that stood out to me more than anything in WB's verse, due to the complexity of them. You also stuck to the scheme well. Only thing I would say is some of the concepts were dull but it was a scheme battle so it's understandable. Overall good battle, Realistic Ratings in.

Good battle. Both were nice with the scheme so it finally came down to the other text battling components where I feel Wonderbred was a notch above Rieper. Bred's closer was killer.

Wonderbred

This was not a bad verse overall, but I want to highlight the negatives before I discuss the positives. You haven't been an active battler in years, and the way you worded some of your punchlines lets that shine though. These days, veteran battlers generally want wordplays and phraseplays to work grammatically both ways with the rest of the sentence they're in. Your opener was a great example of how not to do that. "I don't care, a line of Rieper's won't come with the spice" is a perfectly valid grammatical construction, but if you read it the other way around, it becomes illiterate: "I don't Carolina Reapers won't come with the spice." There was a time when that kind of execution was completely acceptable on LetsBeef.com. That time is long behind us.

"You can rapture but I'm sending you to hell" is another example of the same phenomenon.

Also, the Uncle Sam bar was factually inaccurate, even if you ignore the fact that the story about his uncle molesting him is a self-invented fake personal to begin with. Lock's self-diss verse mentioned his (fictional) Uncle Fry, not his Uncle Sam, lmao. Although, on second thought, Americans do love to eat fries.

The punches in this verse were at a decently high level, with the exception of the flaws in execution that I've already mentioned, and the ROUNDS bar that doesn't make sense even as far as ROUNDS bars go (what kind of dice are round? You must have some hardcore D&D 100-sided dice to even get close to that). But with those serious flaws aside, you brought a solid albeit dated verse, both conceptually and in terms of execution.

Rieper

I caught some punchlines in your verse that, in my opinion, were too basic or played for a serious battle against a non-negligible opponent like Wonderbred. Laughing matter = Clutching his sides? In a tournament battle in 2019? Really? I get that this is a scheme battle, and with a subpar scheme at that, but I know that you could have dropped something way better than this instead. Same with the House floor punch, which I'll admit isn't a concept that I've seen before, but it's so pathetically obvious in retrospect that I hate that I actually kind of like it. That all applies to the closer, too.

However, while the level of punchlines that you were dropping weren't as high as what I expected from you - not to mention what you should expect from yourself - they were consistently enough to counter Wonderbred's strikes, while not being nearly as impaired by dated execution or other aspects that were simply bad.

So, overall, I think this is a reasonably close battle, but I still have Rieper winning without question. Both were nearly even on punchlines, so I'm giving it to much better execution from Rieper over vicious personals from Wonderbred. Low 7 - High 6. Fair's in.

Both did great here, Bred brought some fire personals that were well executed and Rieper fired off some killer horrorcore-type bars. In terms of utilizing the scheme I appreciated Bred's inner rhymes but Rieper stuck only to the scheme and managed to pull it off. Overall I'd say one was a step above but my loser could've taken this if we cleaned up a line or two, close battle and fair's in gents. Congrats on whoever moves on, both would be a problem to deal with for anybody.
