Concepts:

Both had dope ideas but also some that I've seen before. (Lock's Cisco // feds infected bars ... Jreddy's follow the lines / I'm the leader flip) 

However, Lock was more complex with a more cleaner structure while keeping it followable. Jreddy tried to be too complex at times and it was hard to follow what you were trying to come up with.

Execution:

Lock, good delivery and smooth flow from start to finish. Your multis were clean, nothing too choppy. Wording was nice, wasn't really anything unnnatural that caught me out. There was some wp in there, also smooth and worked both ways.

Jreddy, your flow was crazy towards the end lol. The delivery was nice but your wording was weird at points. Like, how do you rip something breezy? Rhyming was crazy lol, but you didn't really focus on multis imo, though you picked 'em up near the end.

Punches:

Lock, your opener was setup well. I liked how you kept shit relevant, like how you tied in 'neck 'n neck' setup to the punch itself. 'Roll with bunches of stans' was witty. One of your highlights was the 'escape the habitat,' I found that one funny. But, personally, I think the line you executed the best was the 'Copernicus woulda formed' one. Also, that was my favourite bar in the battle. Closer was okay, I think this was a dope verse.

Jreddy, the opening leading up to 'agent 47' was dope, bit choppy but I liked how you delivered that shit. 'Knife gets deeper' line was also nice. You had some ideas in there like the diamond bit that had potential to land with more sting but didn't cos you had poor execution. The second half of your verse was a lot better, delivery was good. Also I felt your punches were harder here and shit was less choppy. Closer was okay, I noticed that the bars where you rhymed a lot didn't really land, yeah it was smooth but the punch could've landed with more impact if you set it up better. 

Both had nice delivery and flow, all the shit an audio verse needs. Overall, I'm giving this one to Lock. He had the harder punches, and his verse was more followable. Jreddy did well, but was inconsistent and wasn't as creative as Lock was. 10's for a dope tourney battle.

Ones flow was mean here. Ones wasn't. Ones bars were punchful here. Others were lighter jabs with a couple impactful body blows. Ones delivered edged this. One didn't. Teetor totter shit who did I vote for??? Vote concealed

This one is hella dope. J Reddy is very lyrical, but, I think his drops are more of a hybrid between a cypher and a battle verse. Like, he has punches, but they’re not built up in a huge way or even presented as punches. He weaves more links in through his writing which is nice, but a lot of space is used on self hype and just “rapping”, like, I know it’s battle rap so it’s weird to say rapping as a bad thing but what I mean is just filler. Rhyming stuff for the sake of rhyming stuff rather than pushing out hard hitting material. So, I’ve got Lock taking this with a more structured approach in terms of punching every 2nd line or so with relevant set ups. I think J out rapped him but Lock out battled him, if that makes sense. 

Winner had a more consistent punch game and a very solid verse. Loser had great flow and swag but sacrifices punches in the process. Leaning towards punches for my winner.

Votes in.. My choice was all around stronger in this one..

Loser's verse started out solid, but it became less hard hitting the longer it went on for; I think it's because there was a lot of filler rhymes that rhymed.

Winner had a solid opener, decent middle and really good finisher. The creativity within your verse is what gave you the win. Dope shit.

I appreciate everyones feedback on this matchup. Rieper, you straight slaughtered me on this one. Much respect for the comaradrie  excersised while this battle was being voted on. You helped me to understand why I lost this one- but in doing so, created a monster! Feel like I've got the blueprint now so watch out!
