When it comes to asking big questions, how big is space is the biggest one. To the best knowledge of astronomers, space is infinite. We can not observe a small portion of all of the universe. We are only able to see the tiny bite that has emitted light that has been able to reach us. What is even more daunting is the fact that the universe is still expanding; therefore, getting bigger as we speak. says Universetoday.com

I know they say space is infinite, but that's circular reasoning. Circular reasoning is a logical fallacy.

They say space is infinite. How do you know if space is infinite? Because they say space is infinite...

There's neither a heads nor tails to this question. Due to lack of information, no one can really make a certain deduction, especially if only tiny bits are studied. I guess we'll just have to be happy with the hypotheses presented.

Things in space are moving away from each other. They know this because of the Doppler effect, red shift, blue shift, and all that.

So if space is indeed expanding, ie. getting bigger. Than how can it possibly be infinite.

I know its cliched and kind of stupid but sometimes, with the comparison to cells and neurons and electron clouds to orbits and things found in the universe, it's easy to theorize like we are actually apart of a larger entity. A being that is growing up, and we are but cogs in the system.

@Spooky Deep - That is weird now that I think of it.. It's literally NO SHAPE. You cannot define the shape of space because it has no end or points to meet at/angles. I mean, I honestly don't think it CAN end. Cause what's outside of that? Something always has to be inside of something. It's weird to think there's actually something out there that could possibly go FOREVER. Something that our minds can't fathom.

Think about infinite magnification

---------- Post added at 09:41 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:25 AM ----------

Let me be clear...I'm focusing inward when I say infinite magnification like focusing on a spot of something small that has been defined

So infiniteness can be going outward or inward right?
