Voting Should Be Earned - Lets Beef

Since the invention of my obvious multi account...i've noticed a few things about voting on here...

i always knew that the majority of cats simply cant vote to save their life, but damn. its to the point where i'm not even sure 80% of cats are reading the verses or just looking for recognizable names. it was one thing when it was just cats saying "fv"...but damn..i'm seeing dudes legitimately not know that the person they voted for is whack.

so...

why not make voting a PRIVLIGE and not a right?

all newcomers get zero voting power. but the credit system works the same, meaning that voting will still work in the same way as always as far as feedback is concerned in the comments. however, stupid and new voters' votes wont mean anything. only voters who've been deemed sane will dictate the outcome of battles. this will mean that we'd need a couple more mods, maybe dedicated to this sole venture. they'd routinely monitor voters and adjust VP from zero up and also lower when necessary, as they already do.

the best part is that voting power would still be unknown and people would really want to earn a counted vote, because everyone want to feel a part of the process...

but they're are already loads of battles that wont close because noone wants to vote on them....this would just create a larger back-log of unclosed, unread battles...especially in audio.

@ Epi...nah son...lol...that was like 6mos ago

@Iron: maybe, but i think that you'd see the VPs rise quickly since people would want to feel like they mattered....just look at how many cats followed me, RULE, and IAmFlow when we started getting recognized for our expos

the idea makes sense ... especialy since theres so many new accounts who are clueless but have maximum vp because they've never cheated .... but this would be way too hard to keep on top of ... it would mean that mods would have to consistantly keep an eye on every single account thats ever made and remember who is who and how they vote .... theres over 100'000 accounts signed up here .... it's just not possible ... there's no way you could keep track.

something like starting everybody with a vp of 2 or 3 would prolly work better .... then up it to 5 if you noticably vote well... that would take a lot less work and stop these clowns having so much say in who wins a battle

that's exactly what i mean...

not lowering all new accounts and shit...just having it automatically start at zero...one tops...

that way its just a matter of upping the shit when you see positive voting trends...this would also stop ryders....as in all liklihood...exchanging votes would mean nothing to either person

gud idea... only problem i see wit dis is dat ur makin da votin bias cuz its da diversity and preference of styles da makes matches competetitve u cant make a new member or emcee prefer a certain verse over da other... its about choice n preference... imo...

nah...70% of battles on this site are very easily won by the winner...
