You argue anybody coulda done this, anybody coulda done that. but Nas did it before them. & He did a great job at it

I could go on and on forever. Nas is the original great lyricist

lmao you cant be serious
you know how many rappers have made tracks like that
before and after him? i could go on and on forever

you just keep showing how much you over-rate tht dude,

and whats wrong w/ lupe dropping a shitty album to make money?
its not like he said it was a good album it was obviously influnced by his label

if a great actor gets paid 25 mill to act in a movie w/ a shitty script and shitty director does that mean he's a bad actor.

lupe wanted to make money. all he had to do was half ass on some songs there is no real or fake in that, its just an easy way to make money he can still drop as many mixtapes as he wants for his REAL fanbase and they will be FREE

what is the pralem wit that?

lmao you are sad

Nas is sick. People will say Illmatic is an overated LP the way people refer too it and to a point I understand but you have to look at it from the standerd for that time. And for that time Illmatic was lightyears ahead of anything else. I've purchased every Nas LP over the years except the Damien Marley 1 and though some are undoubtedly better than others there was always atleast 5 dope tracks to be found in his weaker LPs. Nas wouldn't be my Top 5 but he'd be VERY close . Definatley top 10

---------- Post added at 10:55 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:52 PM ----------

And Lupe is a Monster. I prefer listening to him than Nas. I get more out of listening to Lupe. He's a far superior writer. Enemy Of The State is one of the best Mixtapes of All time.

i admit illmatic was ahead of its time.
but not by much. rakim and kool g rap were spitting dope before him too

but if you want to call an album the greatest because it was ahead of its time
then go ahead lol. it makes no sense tho

and people take for granted how hard it is too come up with new flows and how smoothly jay-z rides a beat. he switches up his style/flow almost every song

and almost every song nas has the same flow! how can you be the best with a flow like his is what i dont understand

you said rap is rythm and poetry
nas just dosent have enough rhythm to be considered the goat.

Yeah I don't think Illmatic is the goat but nah Rakim wasn't spittin like nas lol. Rakin was NEVER dropping a lyrical bomb like NY State Of Mind . Kool G Maybe. I dunno. I only listened to his stuff from the late 90's n early 2000's and the man is a beast so it's possible he was doing it before Nas. But like I said. I dunno.

I would put Joell Ortiz way ahead of Nas and his bacl catalouge isn't anywhere near as deep as Nas' . But he tells way better storys than nas. Has 10 times more charisma behind a mic and a far better delivery.
