COUPLE IDEAS FOR LB

I been on LB since i was about 15 years old. That was 11 years ago, back in 2008 when the site was really at its best, up until probably 2013/2014 it just kind of slowly faded out, essesntially for 6 years.

If you were active back then you'll know. Easy 40-50 regular active members, if not more.

I understand people lose interest and/or grow up, have kids and full time jobs n shit.. but this is the best outlet for people who love hip-hop, write rhymes and battle people from around the world, all from the comfort of their own home.

I myself am in full time employment and have been for 7 years so i too fell off the site but i often been checking here for fresh battles & new tracks.. it proved gradually that LB was fading away in terms of the quality & quantity of battles, tracks & voting.

Unfortunately we cant help the inactivity and lack of incentive to create.

But i thought id have a rant and throw a couple ideas at those who are left to read this.

So...

We should have more 'star ratings'.
E.g under our battle record should be attributes -
Audio Track Rating: 7.7/10 ******* (for those whos preference is the track side of LB)
Text Cypher Rating: 8.2/10 ******** (for those whos preference is or just like dropping cyphers)

Also there should be a cap for members voting on atleast 10 things everyday, whether it be battles, cyphers or tracks, otherwise you cant post on forums or battle that day until youve cast a vote 10 times within the 24 hour clock.

Forcing people to vote 10 times is going to have an opposite effect I think. They'll just fuck off. People dont wanna be forced to do shit. It's like making me watch ads in the middle of a facebook video. Click.

But its apart of the foundations of how this site works... the voting system.

People rather talk in the chat bar or forums than actually battle and create music.

It aint nothin to vote on 10 things. Takes all of 10 mins. Even 5 would suffice

i agree that trying to make people vote or they can't do anything would make people leave, but at the same time, we have a massive problem with people not voting. i think i've covered this topic though with the fvc thread. we need them to take in more members honestly.
