Honestly, it seems like some white people were/are rooting for Zimmerman ONLY because some black people are making it about race. Fuck race! Just look at what happened. This guy had a relationship with the local police department. I can't remember which news show (either 20/20 or Dateline) that showed how he used to walk in and out of the police station unchecked. He wasn't even arrested at the scene of the crime. There were no witnesses so the police didn't really know who the aggressor was and they went ONLY on Zimmerman's word that he acted in self defense! How crazy is that shit????

Does Florida still have that 60 day custody bullshit? Whether the feds got evidence or not, inmates are let free after 60 days, no matter what the case is? I might have misunderstood the whole procedure; But from what I heard, that's how it goes down.. If so.. Da fuck?

Yeah I've heard burglars always stop for iced tea and skittles.
There were huge failings on the police end also; Zimmerman was never breathalised, nor was he arrested at the scene and held for investigation, which sounds to me like the police had already made up their minds on what happened.
I'd also read that Zimmerman was 100lbs heavier that Martin at the time; why would he fear for his life against a kid he could sit on, knowing he himself was armed? Martin must've feared for something or he wouldn't have ran; Zimmerman can't have been that scared or he wouldn't have pursued.
I was beginning to sway toward agreeing with the outcome, but the more I read about this the more it seems that the prosecution never stood a chance in the first place (they themselves did not handle it well at all; they should've targeted police handling and Zimmerman more directly, rather than attempting to defend Martin).
Of course, a verdict has been passed and - in the eyes of the law - Zimmerman is not guilty, but like @ Jason pointed out; it raises and evokes a plethora of moral question and opinion.

Here are really the two perspectives of the case.
A 17 year old was walking through an estate. He noticed someone following him so he ran away. After a bit, he thought fuck it, turned around and started to kick the fuck out of his pursuer. The pursuer than shot and killed him.
A man, whom felt the police were failing his neighbourhood watch, thought a teenager was acting suspicious. He followed him, making sure he didn't escape before the police came. He felt safe because he was armed. This didn't prove helpful though, as he still got his ass kicked. In serious trouble, he then defended himself with the gun, shooting the teenager.
You can look at it either way. To start, it's not a racial matter in any form. I can see both perspectives. If some cunt smashed my window say, I'd sneak after him instead of making an arse of myself getting outran by them. But if I noticed someone following me, I'd be like "Here mate, fuck off". So really, people getting involved are just being biased.

[/COLOR]Honestly, I could Easily see myself reacting the way Trayvon Martin did. A strange dude starts following you and you start running and the person still pursues. Zimmerman is not a cop! You guys are looking at it like Zimmerman acted out of self defense, but it was really Trayvon who acted out of self-defense. Everybody ain't built to run...and he actually did try to run to avoid the situation until Zimmerman caught up with him, a stranger whom, probably as far as Trayvon could surmise, had absolutely no business pursuing him.
---------- Post added at 11:47 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:41 PM ----------
Zimmerman's lawyers actually tried to submit the fact that he listened to gangsta rap music and had graphics on marijuana in his cell phone as some kind of defence to try to paint him as a violent kid. Really? The night Zimmerman was acquitted, his brother went on CNN practically saying Trayvon deserved to die, that he was a violent youth. And I'm not saying Zimmerman should have been found guilty because Trayvon was black, neither am I presuming Zimmerman had any racist intentions. Those practically don't matter. Just look at the facts and use common sense. It doesn't matter what race Zimmerman and Trayvon are.

This is pretty spot on I'd say.

He wanted to make sure someone whom he didn't see commit any crime didn't escape before the police got there?

I've heard that there had been house robberies at that time. If someone just robbed a house in your neighborhood, they'd be walking around wearing a hoodie and not carrying any items they may have taken but a pack of Skittles?

What exactly was Trayvon doing to "act suspicious" other than wearing a hoodie?

@ Iron Mike being young and black apparently. Although running may have raised suspicion also. Generally innocent people don't run.

No obviously Wearing a hoodie while it's raining is suspicious. I mean because that makes no sense...
