I feel a little Uncomfortable when people are (On there first ever battle) getting accused of biting from comment boards, everybody voting against them, then getting banned.

Those lyrics could just as easily be his. Where's the proof of otherwise? Like it's Un common for some noob to start battling on a comment boards, find a rap site, then re use those bars for his first battle.

I agree. And Stephen needs to be more careful how he uses his words when doing this. "Bitten/Recycled" not just "Bitten" that fucks kids like the above up before they even get accustomed to the site. And he should not have been banned.

Its true that it COULD have been him on that other website. However, it also COULD have been a lot of things going on. I find it strange that someone would, on their first battle, use a wack verse that's not even a battle verse, word for word (double spaced) in a text box that's not even filled a quarter of the way.
1) It's possible that it wasn't the same person, and this person may have just copied some random verse just to test how our text battles work or for some other reason. As ridiculous as that may sound, its not that much more ridiculous than someone recycling THAT kind of verse for a text battle.
2) Even if it was him, it would be recycling and that is against the rules.
As far as whether he should have been given a warning first, that is discretionary and I give warnings first most of the time if the person hasn't received infractions before. As mods, we're often expected to use our own discretion and better judgement, and in this case, I felt like that wasn't something we needed here. If you would have given him a warning first on the basis that it COULD have been him on that other site, that's fine...and if you would have been the mod who first handled that situation, perhaps you would have handled it differently.
But my biggest issue with this is are we really going to get into the habit or circumventing and undermining each other, particularly in public? Not only did you undermine my decision with the comments you made on that battle, you also went and un-banned someone who I felt should have been banned without even approaching me about the situation first and telling me why you think he should be un-banned.

It actually makes perfect sense that he innocently did what he did, which I'll explain right now.

A) if you were going to bite, that would be the LAST thing you would bite, there were other better posts on that comment board, Leading to B) He obviously doesn't know his ass from his elbow when it comes to this kind of stuff. Which leads to C) He is obviously new to writing battle verses or even writing period, This is THE site text noobs come to. It is the first to pop up in a lot of related google searches. So with all that in mind, it is far more realistic that while having his first battle here, and being unfamiliar with the system, as well as being extremely eager to battle,!he simply copied his verse from that comment board to make a battle, so he could be involved, as well as get people to read what he posted. And until Un debatable PROOF is provided to the contrary, I'm inclined to use my common sense and give him the benefit of the doubt, given there are far more clues pointing to an innocent recycle than there are pointing to a bite. People seem to forget how this shit really works.

How was a warning not needed? It was his FIRST ever battle on the site, he's not a known multiple account, he is quite clearly new, a warning is EXACTLY what was needed in the situation. I get to each mods discretion but if you're not capable of judging each individual case based on it's merits, we have a problem. And this is clearly a problem as what (If you really stop to think about it) looks like an innocent kid who made a simple mistake because he doesn't know any better , has be hung drawn and labeled as a biter, he could very well have bit., but nothing suggests he bit, and common sense should prevail when you weigh everything up, and that points to some newb making a simple mistake.

However, one thing that does have proof is that he took lyrics from another website, and I acted on that. You acted (and undermined me) based on a hypothetical that he COULD have just “innocently” recycled.
I'm not sure how “innocent” recycling is, but to me, a recylcle is just as wack as a bite. As a matter of fact, it's somewhat the same thing as a bite....the only difference is that you bite yourself as opposed to biting someone else. I believe its actually in the T.O.A. when someone signs up to this site that they agree to neither impersonate any famous rapper or plagiarize material, so that obviates the argument that he wasn't familiar with rules.
You can argue that I should have been more lenient since it was his very first time on the site and he's not a known multi account. Honestly, that holds a lot of weight with me coming from you, someone who's been a mod a lot longer than I have and has a lot more experience dealing with this sort of thing. However, if the roles were reversed, I still would have approached you first and explain why perhaps a warning was in order as opposed to a ban before lifting the ban.

You notice a that a user has votes on his battles coming from another user who shares the same IP. You ban one or both of the accounts under “Multiple Accounts/Voting for Self”. How would you feel if another mod lifted the ban based on the hypothetical that the two accounts COULD have been different people sharing the same network, therefore it doesn't costitute voting for self?
A scenario very similar to this actually happened almost a year ago where you banned two dudes using the same IP and I hit you up on chat about it. I wasn't a mod then and the two people weren't even voting for each other and I happen to know that they were two different people.
All I'm saying is, even though there is some merit to your argument that it was probably a recycle and that I should have been more lenient and issued a warning, you should have approached me about it first because there are always things we both don't know. You're saying you felt inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt...I'm saying ,as a fellow mod, I would appreciate it next time if you gave me the benefit of the doubt and approach me directly if my decisions seem questionable before overturning those decisions or presuming my “trigger-happiness”.
