Do people come here to play “hey find my multi if you can” or actually battle? Like the site I’m sure wasn’t built for people to create a thousand accounts because they wanna joke around and play different personas every other day.

I really don't understand how or why people are saying "every single time cheating comes up its because of multis". Other than Rican, I'm not aware of any multi-related cheating sagas on the site besides apparently someone called Silk or something, who was connected to Rican anyway. Almost every "cheating exposed" thread I've seen in my time on LB is biting-related, and the other more famous scandals I'm aware of are things like paying for votes, abusing staff powers and buddy-voting, none of which have any connection to multis. There are some clear benefits to multi-accounts; I think it's good for top-tier battlers to see what people think of their bars without their reputation attached, or for people like Brayne to make gimmick accounts or Danny Tanner to be more successful than Rieper in the rankings.

Besides, doing shady shit/cheating with multis is against the rules anyway, as is sharing accounts. This way you're only going to stop the innocent side of multis, whereas the people that cheat will still cheat and lie about it because that's what they were doing anyway, and adding one more rule to break isn't going to stop them.

I think multis are bullshit. I'm cool with Lock, but I will never be cool with facing a guy who has dirt of me in a tournament final but I'm not allowed to have dirt on him. I was told I lost that battle, in which I made jokes about Perplexity being Lock, because "I couldn't be sure it was Lock". It's bullshit to be a known guy, with a background and history, and attempt to hide that for the purpose of winning battles. Lock obviously has changed that and won almost every title under his own name, which I respect massivley, but it still stands that someone hiding their identity to hide from personals is bullshit.

EDIT: This is just once instance where that effected me. I can't stress enough that Lock has achieved almost every single title or battle under his known aliases and this doesn't effect him at all. In this once specific instance, where he wasn't battling as himself, it pissed me off that I was facing someone hiding their "LB identity".

The problem is, RULE is the head mod who personally has found great use out of multi accounts so it's going to be hard to drive that narrative home. As for this thread, I feel the "Rican has logged into Swift's account multiple times....amongst other stuff" excuse fucking bullshit. What other stuff? Your mod panel has existed for 3 days, stop fucking hiding shit immediately. What is your full evidence against Rican and we can all get on board and move along? The most you conceal and hide shit the more people get pissed off about this stuff.

This is true, and it's not just Rican, there are countless accounts that popped outta nowhere, knew how to battle perfectly, voted in a manner in which they were experienced, and now vanished, problem is, they didn't vanish, they are on a new multi, a new mask, a new identity, why though? What causes someone to ditch something and start over? When they have something to hide.

My friend, I see your point, and I agree, but the problem is - there are people cheating on multis, this is a fact. You have to ask yourself, why did they create that multi, what is it's purpose, is it just for fun? Why is there an' uptick of them around tournament time? If you think i'm a cry baby, you're sadly mistaken, remember, me complaining about them will only help you in the long run. Guaranteed, you've already been fucked by a multi in a battle, you just don't know it.

Just before your arrival there was another member of the site caught for self voting on multis, he got away with it for three tournaments before he was finally caught and titles had to be reversed and it caused a giant mess. This is not something that has happened once, go to all the tournament battles, and look at the finals, and you will see weird random accounts voting on those battles.

I see what you mean with the Lock thing, I still think you wouldn't of won the battle, but I do understand your feelings (no homo) it's the same thing i'm trying to stop going forward. The fact that they appear in mass around tournament time and vote on your battles should be alarming to you, it's basically like a burner phone, you can do whatever the fuck you want on it and throw it in the garbage after, you only need to get rid of something quickly when you are doing shady shit on it. If multi's didn't have a giant history of cheating i don't think anyone would care about them.
