Site Update
I was in a conference call with X and Pugz earlier today discussing the future of the site, and I just wanted to give you guys an idea of what's going on. A lot of time and money has been invested towards developing a modernized mobile friendly version of LB. Right now, the front end development is basically complete, and what's left is to tie LB's code into the interface. That's a lot of work for several reasons.
The main reason is vBulletin itself. vBulletin is the forum software we use and it is outdated. There are newer versions of vBulletin available, but the decision to migrate to a newer version is not that simple to make. A lot of plug-ins which we have come to rely on to provide the current LB experience simply either don't exist or don't have an equivalent in the newer versions. So if we simply just migrated, we stand to lose some features. This doesn't necessarily mean we won't have the same features in the new site. It just means that we would have to code them from scratch (which takes longer) rather than simply installing an available plug-in.
One of the things that we also discussed is the ranking system. When we launch the new site, would you guys rather we reset the all-time rankings and start over using ELO, or would you rather keep the rankings as they are right now? Please vote on the poll.

A lot of people are worried about changing things because they feel like LetsBeef would lose its integrity, but in order to move forward we need massive changes.
I think the ELO system is a fantastic way to establish the true rank of someones skill, if someone feels like their true skill is being reflected? They would be more reluctant to give the craft up after a couple of losses, because initially they would be against people their own skill level and will most likely do pretty decent vs their opponent.
There will be no bulshit like people sniping their way to the top of the ranks either, which has been a concept thats so known on LetsBeef that its basically okay to do it, and not looked down upon.
What these "fake" records show new users is kinda bad for the site as well, for example... if I joined LetsBeef yesterday, and saw Bnas is #1 without anyones guidance to check out some of the more dope battlers, I would say this site is absolutely bonkers because the dude thats ranked #1 on your site, is trash tier. People act like its a small thing, but its not. When you join anything / play any game you kinda check out the ranking system and gauge whats good or not.
So if we are to trust in our ranking system to reflect the true skill of our users, we need to switch it.
I voted, in favour of switching over to ELO.

So? Screenshot the original all-time rankings page.
Frankly, the current all-time rankings mean jack shit outside of archaeological dig site value. A lot of the people on it are garbage by today's standards (and possibly by their days' standards, too), and even the people on it who are good aren't necessarily placed anywhere close to where they be placed on an accurate list of the best battlers in LB history.
I want rankings to be based at least 50% on how good someone is, or at least how good the unwashed masses THINK someone is. With the current system, you can just snipe noobs ad nauseam until you hit #1 of all time (looking at you, Bnas and Macc).

Thanks for the update @ NOBLE. I vote to switch to the newer vBulletin and also reset the rankings and move forward with the ELO system. We've seen what the current system can do and it held up for as long as it could, but now it's failing. This is our chance to try something, anything different. I think we should take it.

I'm sure there's lots of ways to go about it, but the main direction we should push towards is the ELO system.
