The definition of a phobia is a fear of something.

I’m pretty sure that most people that are called homophobic aren’t scared of gay people. They just don’t like them .

I think if a dude's constantly thinking about other people being gay and how it sickens him, then he's probably gay and he's disgusted about himself.

I always hated this opinion. It's a very common one, and imo it stems from American TV pushing a rhetoric which states that "bad people" need to be the ones who ultimately have the worse life.

People with that much sickening hatred of gay people are very very unlikely to be gay. Much more likely to be religious or something.

I mean by your logic, a KKK member is more likely to be black than just a cunt.

Behind all hate is an imbalance of love and not accepting someone to live their own life when it doesn't affect your own is an example of that. Unless you know someone who got raped by gay dudes then you're not going to hate gay dude unless it's coming from within you. I would think most people wouldn't give a fuck, most people don't have the time to think about it and go all hardcore against the issue. Even fully devout Christians, Catholics, etc. they're so focused on their life of "sin" and they're not worried about 2 dudes frolicking about or 2 girls scissoring. The real meaning of what is called homophobia is disliking homosexuals and homosexuality. Homophobes often have a fear of homosexuals and homosexuality in addition to dislike, but that is not a necessary condition to be "homophobic." Therefore, "homophobia" is a misnomer.
