A bite is when someone uses material from another Rap/Hip Hop song or battle and uses it in a Rap/Hip Hop song or battle. When someone takes material from a realm outside of Hip Hop, it could be considered plagiarism, wack and uncreative, but it isn't, by strict definition, a "bite."
If you're going to expand biting to plagiarism from any source, then Hip Hop itself has been biting from its inception. We started off mostly sampling from music from other genres. The people who originated this art form didn't consider that biting though. "Biting" was introduced when rappers started to plagiarize other rappers. Nicholas didn't steal these wordplays from another verse. He got them from a non Hip Hop related website. That is wack because he didn't use his own creativity, but it's still not a "bite." There isn't one of us who hasn't used a popular phrase, pun or idiom to construct a punchline. Maybe it was something we just heard growing up and we may have not lifted it from a website, but I can almost guarantee that most of these phrases could be found listed and tabulated by someone on some website. What difference does it make if you use a popular saying you heard growing up or you find a list of such sayings on a website and use it? You're still using a concept you didn't originate yourself. In my opinion, in Hip-hop, everything is game as long as it's not another rapper's material. That's how it's been from the beginning.

No point discussing the technicallitys and the nuances of the terms bite and plagerisim or anything else for that matter because in this world we use the term bite and this is the type of shit we call a bite.

Mindless said what is probably the most important thing in this entire argument. "It's not a science, it's an art form." Regardless of everyone's opinions, this remains true. In fact, it's the main reason why there are so many different opinions, many of which are only slightly different from one another. My 2 cents on this specific situation would be that I am almost convinced that Nicholas has used the linked site to get these wordplays. The argument some have made about the complexity of the WP's, and the fact that they can be found so near to each other on one site is compelling. I tend to side with people like Mindless and Noble on this though. Sure, it's lame to do, but it's not an official, punishable "bite" in my opinion.
And for those of you who complain every time the staff isn't on the same page, and demand clear cut rules and decisions on things like this, get real. These things are too complex for that. We can only do our best to explain our individual stances as mods, and then vote in the staff forums. Each case is different, and each mod is different. Also, whether you like it or not, politics and personal histories will always play at least a small role in what people think. We are all human, we all have opinions. That's what voting consensus is for.
