i agree with K about the audio being a stepping stone, because thats been my experience...the thing ppl dont realize is text verses are 100% different from audio verses...the structure, the set up, the syllable count, everything...ppl think its as easy as turning on a mic but thats when they get their wake-up call...just like audio has its different aspects and elements (delievery, presence, does it flow, ect) so does text (multi, wordplay, setups) and each aspect is greatly underappreciated

i made the switch from text to audio - in my mind a little too early bc i was just tapping into my text potential, but thought i could run with it...which i did for alittle but i think definitely has hindered me...just like audio, your text will only get better the more you do it...which is where a lot of you audio heads need to focus on...you think bc you have the audio elements down, and bc you can cover your tracks with good quality and plugins, that you dont need to focus on lyrics anymore...go hang up your shit now bc youre a joke if you believe that

if you want to be good at this, you need to practice every aspect, religiously

Personally I can write just as good if not better that the next man. I see what you mean in general though. We could both post alot of examples. But I started of writing songs on a real note pad. sticking to actual topics. Text can definatly help your punch game. Multies and shit like that come from working with beats as your syllable count has to be on point or else you are just going to be off beat. I honestly think it takes alot more focus to write a good, solid, meaningful topic based Solo track than it does to write a 32 bar text battle though.

When i started doin audio i only needed to work on my delivery and mic presence... When i started text battlin i just had to work on set ups and unplayed concept.... Writing music is da stepping stone to text and audio.... Although audio can help yo text game a lot as far as multi placement to make shit flow smooth text can also help yo audio by makin u think of nice concepts and set ups for the concepts...

Like i said ppl need to step their Pen Game up(well writing skills lol) Text battles are dope you have no limits to what you can say....but Audio is better cause i rather hear the flow than read it...but both are cool...Some people just can't flow and some can't write so they hate on each other(certain ppl anyways) LMAO
