Um, No. I don't believe in "God" so you can't say because I don't believe that's acknowledgment. I acknowledge that I don't believe in any "Higher Power" or anything that's beyond our minds grasp. So by saying I don't believe, I'm NOT subsequently saying I do believe in "God" I could say "THERE IS NO GOD" proving I don't believe...but like I said, a person has the right to their own beliefs, and the right to NOT have someone push or force their Beliefs on someone else...so for all you Christians and what not...you can still believe there is a "God" I myself, Don't think, or believe there is one.
Good Day.

Meh, that's pretty stupid logic but;
I don't think all religions are bad, I think religions can be amazing. So if atheism was a religion I wouldn't mind, as long as they promote free thought & secularism I'm fine with it. I don't know why people get so butthurt when Atheism is called a religion, there are religions that don't have dogma and are pretty amazing.

In your disbelief of God, do you not acknowledge that God is an idea created by man? Is to acknowledge God as an idea not the belief in God as that, an idea? Is the belief in God as an idea thought up by man, not the belief in God?

I'm pretty sure Muhammad was a prophet who spoke to Allah (or God). Allah is just the Islamic term for a monotheistic deity or presence ( agreeing with @ Askari ).
The scriptures on Muhammad (including the Qur'an) seem to suggest he was a terrible wife beating misogynist who then promoted such behavior through the Islamic religion and scriptures.
http://wikiislam.net/wiki/Wife_Beating_in_Islam
I'm not going to suggest this means there are no redeemable qualities about Islam, because I am quite sure there are many.
Yet, supposedly the stories of Muhammad and the Qur'an are largely adapted from the earlier Judeo-Christian scriptures. Hence the many similarities between the three monotheistic religions (ex. Halal being similar to Kosher).
Just thought I put my word in.
Also, I don't believe in atheists… I think they are just agnostics in denial. Atheism is silly, as it claims truth in there being no god/gods despite any evidence. Agnosticism admits we simply don't know.

AGREED. KEEP IT SMART 100. Atheism is an organized belief and therefore a structured philosophy similar to religion. Agnosticism is a little bit more hazy of a subject… intentionally so.

There is no wife beating in Islam. Don't just read something from one source that any muslim hater could've written and believe it. No wife beating In Islam.

Let it be known that I am not religious; probably Atheist if I HAD to choose; even then I prefer to detach myself from any particular sect out of a desire to explore the area in a lot more depth before potentially dedicating my entire faith to something.
This shit really bugs me. Atheism itself is inheriting all the darker traits of traditional religion; hatred and the belittling of the beliefs of others. So many Atheists think believing in nothing and basing faith in scientific fact/abstinence immediately makes them smarter and better people than, say, someone who goes to church every Sunday and lives by the bible; Atheists (generally speaking) seem to think this entitles them to mock, ridicule or lambaste followers of the historic religions based on the sectarian and discriminatory facets therein. It's a real shame that they can't see how hypocritical that is.
There's an extremely fine line between Atheism and adopting a sectarian attitude - masked in 'knowledge' and 'facts' - towards others based on what they believe. Nobody should be made to feel persecuted for what they believe in.

Sorry my man but you've been dragged in by a troll.
And Atheism is just living your life without it being dictated by religion because well, you don't believe in it.
Religion causes so many problems it's crazy.
