Manny fought COTTO,HATTON,MARQUEZ.............so clearly he was cherry picking as well?Everyone who fought the fighters Floyd fought must be cherry picking themselves correct?

It's not about WHO they are fighting, it's about the style of their opponent. Mayweather doesn't fight anyone who can outwork him with speed, and there is a few guys out there who can. He doesn't fight slick fighters either, he always goes for coming forward scrappers.
As Pac is also a coming forward scrapper (with extras), going against Cotto and Hatton ran some risks for him. Marquez is like little Mayweather, so he could slip Pac's shots which was why in the first 3 fights he made him look so bad. It was ALWAYS a bad match for Pac, and he went back to it 3 times.
Alvarez wants Mayweather, arguably the greatest of all time. He WANTS to fight non bums. You can be a Mayweather fan all you want, but the fact remains that he ducked Pacquiao, doesn't want any of Bradley, chose a low level guy like Ghost instead of a undefeated big name like Alvarez, and he will retire without fighting anyone that on paper poses any problems.

I'm not getting into a Pac/May discussion, but even Mayweather fans know he was ridiculous, even though most had him as the fav.
Ghost has zero chance of winning, and I don't expect him to win a single round...and I'm a fan. Ghost loses to Amir Khan also. If he does good, it's not that Ghost proved to be better than he is, it's that May started to lose it a bit. I'm not underestimating the guy, his performances make it look this way,

This is partially why I'm expecting a May loss, you hit on it right there. He just got off Jail time spent ages out and he's getting on a bit. I think this is a good time for an upset.

Mayweather might be the greatest boxer of all time, but he doesn't have his George Foreman or Joe Frazier like Ali did or his Marvin Hagler like Sugar Ray Leonard did. If Sugar Ray asked Hagler for all the money, or a young Cassius Clay refused to fight the champ Frazier, they wouldn't have become what they did. Mayweather had potentially the biggest boxing fight of all time, but couldn't settle for standardized drug testing and a 50/50 split. He couldn't have just a regular old boxing match. Now, he has to save it. Pacquiao is still an amazing opponent, and imo nothing about the fight changes as Pacquiao got caught by ONE perfect punch, but the timing is done. May needs to salvage what he has left to become the greatest, and to do so he'll have to beat EVERYONE. Some people even say he has to get a fight with Sergio to get there (I don't).
Beating Ghost does absolutely nothing for Mayweather's legacy. Ghost's biggest win was against a steroid user who was proven to be overrated when an average fighter like Ortiz beat him. Alvarez' record alone is HUGE for the fight to go down, as perhaps never before in boxing has two guys with such ridiculous records faced each other. Mayweather NEEDS the big fights to be considered the greatest. Had I be Pacquiao or Mayweather, I'd have done that fight for free. Boxing isn't about the money. Those guys have their paychecks solidly down (although May will blow his at some point). Boxing at that level is about legacy. Mayweather will be remembered as that all time great of this era, but will never be mentioned in the same breath as the old school heavyweights. Beat Alvarez, Beat Pacquiao, Beat Khan, Beat Bradley...he has a chance. Ghost, Berto, Marquez, Maidana. These guys do nothing for May, but these will be the opponents he faces.
