People like Pac and Em have tracks where the entire song is a metaphor, Immortal Technique raps about economic and political systems that cause systemic poverty in Latin America and outlines ways to fix the issues, Biggie's flow and verbal dexterity is imo possibly the greatest of any artist ever, Nas does shit like rap from the perspective of a gun, and I think all of those things require a great deal of giftedness as a writer.

This alone has 3 meaning.

1. Em took the game back and the only change is his hair color
2. Jadakiss leaving the locks
3. The game being a house and the literal locks were changed/ kissing his daughter

Not a huge fan of em since he's kinda a style thief after copying nas's sound but calling his lyrics weak is just incorrect.
