This doesn't even go far enough. Everyone's VP should always be publicly visible.

B.) To respond to the quoted section. Being a good battler doesn't make you a good voter, either. Just because I battle a lot, and am good at it, doesn't mean I take the time necessary, or put in the effort necessary to vote consistently, and be a strong voter.

This is 100%. I can only think of one or two occasions in the last 7 years where someone was picked as a mod who hadn't gone through the FVC at some point prior.
In my view, voting is a lot like battling in the sense that it takes continuous practice to be a good voter. Someone can be a great battler, but if they take a year off from writing battles, they will more than likely come back "rusty" and have to build themselves up back to the level they were. I think voting is the same way. I've seen people who are considered among the best voters leave the site for a while, then come back dropping absolutely shitty votes before their ratings and judgement starts showing a certain level of accuracy again. Once you understand how to judge battles, there's a certain amount of that skill that never leaves you, but it still takes practice to maintain the most accurate assessments imo.

Not a good idea. I don't even agree with staff announcing someone has 0vp publicly, and I've seen that a couple of times. Bottom line is that people still cheat, buddy vote or hate vote out of spite. If someone is hate or buddy voting, I'd rather they end up with 0vp and continue voting not knowing their vote is inconsequential than for them to know right away and simply create a new multi account starting at full vp. Transparency is normally a good thing, but in this case, the people that are going to cheat will just use it to their advantage.

Sure, if you're new to voting. But, none of the mods are new to voting. There's a plateau to voting knowledge.

It all depends on the person. If you step away from rap as a whole and stop analyzing lyrics and shit sure. I know my understanding of this shit won't fade personally. I've stepped out and came back multiple times without missing a beat because this shit is in my bones.

Its not even so much one's understanding that fades. Sometimes the times change and what people value or focus on becomes different. Someone that was at the top of their game in 2007 can come back to the site today with the same level of understanding, not missing a beat, and their style wouldn't quite mesh with today's audience. With voting, I've seen different trends. There was a time when it was all about complexity and people were willing to forgive choppy wording as long as the metaphor/wordplay hit. Then it became all about clean wording and readability and a pun-heavy verse with choppy wording could easily lose to a more simplistic verse with clean straightforward readbility. These days, from what I can see, people seem to dock more points for broken multis than they used to. The emphasis is ever changing with the voting consensus. Same as with battling. I can almost guarantee that a lot of people that are considered dope battlers here would not be rated so highly on other sites because they prefer different styles. Long-bar/short-bar, level of humor or disrespect vs complexity, etc.

Mod normally leave pretty detailed expos, it's not like they just swoop in with a fv, gb, vb. And that's it. Hopefully if they are mods they will honour there position by voting as best they can, I always see big expos n shit from em. Unless it really wasn't needed but then they normally seem to vote mostly or a bit more on important battles or battles with ppl who got a rep on here.

I can back up this guarantee. Netcees voters all seem to think I'm garbage. Of course, that's a two-way street...
