Looking through the thread, I can see the term "heavyweight" isn't used that strongly anymore...

The problem is that too many people are content to stay where they are n the ladder. Eventually, every top name needs that inspiration to take it to the next level. For some people it might be a title hunt and reign. For others it will be the GC. Crew battles, feuds/rivalries. Your inspiration to take the next step can come from anywhere, but it takes a certain stage to make you change from regular battler to top contender.

Hells yes. In terms of a battler becoming a heavyweight through a title, Dissizit is a perfect example.

Any perfectly ordinary battler could be doing better in a tournament than they thought they would have done and suddenly elevate leaps and bounds between battles. I've seen it happen too many times.
