RULE's Reviews:
Letsbeefs Finest - Mainstream Slaughter (Mixtape)

Overview
The first official Letsbeef.com mixtape. Compiled by myself, hosted by Danger Rich and Krhyme Killz. Featuring song from the sites most respected track makers.
Track By Track Review
1. Mic Check 1-2 - SWAVY
Epic opener, SWAVY drops his usual punchline heavy style over a frantic beat. Catchy hook adds to solid track. 8/10
2. Hey Rappers - Warren Peece
Warren Peece attacks generic rappers on this song, quotables and solid hook completes another solid track. 8/10
3. Who Can Fuck With Me - Mani Mula
Another epic sounding song here, great production which mani swags out over. When mani starts double timing the track jumps to another level. The beat tags stop this getting a higher rating. And i REALLY wanted to. fuck it im gonna. 9/10
4. Flawless - RiGGA
Short track that shows off RiGGA's blatant skill. Too short but a nice example. 6/10
5. The More - Olde English (Ft SIXX SHOTT)
Olde spits a nice punchline verse that mixes with some nice real lyrical moments. Sixx comes in and drops an equally measured guest verse. Production starts to wear after a while, but doesnt hurt the track too much. 7/10
6. Thats Everything - Wonder Gurl
Produced by Letsbeef's RED MYST, Wonder Gurl spits an emotional verse over an equally emotionally-charged beat. Great track. 8/10
7. In 4 The Kill - SBT The Messiah
When i reviewed SBT's mixtape, i gave this song the 'Track of the tape' award and an 8/10 rating. The more i listen to the track, the more i love it. The second verse mixes great lyricism with relatable subject matter. great track. High... 8/10
8. Hunt3r - Pronto Bankz
A short one-verse track, Pronto swags out over great production. Wish this was longer. Low... 7/10
9. No More Weak Shit - Dmullz (Ft Mani Mula & Conceited)
Catchy street-sounding production, over which the three spit punchline verses focusing at the weak rapper current in rotation. Features the acclaimed live battler Conceited who probably just steals the best verse award on this one. 7/10
10. Finishline - Murderous Swag (Ft SIXX SHOTT)
Swag spits a catchy southern hook before unleashing a verse that rides the beat perfectly. Sixx comes in with his usual punchline style. Solid track here. 8/10
11. Can We Get Enough - Pugz
Letsbeef owner Pugz spits about his love for a certain lady, the production lets the track down a little, otherwise a solid track. High... 7/10
12. In My Hands - Danger Rich (Ft THA DUKE & Real Talk)
The line-up is like a LB dream team. Danger jumps off this for-the-ladies track. an autotuned hook compliments the three verses. One to chill to, good track here. 8/10
13. Caribou - Louie Short
Bassy sci-fi style production, Louie drops his alternate style of hip hop over a really epic beat. Unique sound. 8/10
14. Addiction - Ticket
A conceptual track about drug addiction. The haunting production is perfect, the imagery of the lyrics and emotional delivery makes this an incredible song. 9/10
15. My Story - Haz
Haz raps about growing humble and focusing on elevating his skills. Production is perfectly suited to the content, a nice mix of punchlines and lyricism making this another solid song. 8/10
16. Wendy - Miqueas Lopez
Miq raps about his relationship with his mother over a fantastic beat. The touching content pulls on something inside. The conflict between the good and bad that his mother did is clearly defined in the track, and is easily relatable. Great track. 9/10
Average Track Rating: 7.8/10
Track Of The Tape: Wendy - Miqueas Lopez
Verdict:
The tape was made as an example of the track making ability of the members on Letsbeef. I think this tape succeeds completely in this task. With strong songs of many topics and genres. The few negatives i can see with the tape are the lack of great non-production based hooks. While the hooks on the tape are far from terrible, this is an area that could be considered open for improvement. The only other area that appears to require work would be in the department of mixing. again nothing too bad here but things like lyric/production volume inconsistancys could be worked on. On to the positives, firstly the tracklist is perfect (yes i did it lol). The amount of quotables per track is extremely high, there is a lot of replay value here and the production overall was extremely good. Only one track featured letsbeef-member production, which is an area that can be improved upon with future releases. all in all this is a very good mixtape that showcases the site's abilities brilliantly. Also it should be noted that the artwork was also excellent, and made by the LB member: Swift.
Tape Rating: 8/10
