One dimensional? He's taken many angles...from that Let me show-off shit, to story telling, to songs with music videos that have catchy tunes and a mainstream sound like "Undeniable" which was not only the song name, but the album name itself
I know what you mean by that punter analogy. Maybe he never had a Top 100 song on the billboard, maybe he never topped Forbes list with Diddy, Jay-Z, & 50
You don't have to be a rap mogul or an incredibly successful artist to go down as one of the greatest in your genre.
Michael Jordan is considered the best player ever by a lot of people...what i'm tryna say is, around the time Jordan was playin...you don't think there were any niggas out there playin street ball that were as nice as Jordan (or better) but never got their shot?
whether they were serious about going pro and never had the resources or were just amazingly talented at it but only took it as a hobby
There's always that one person that everybody leaves out of the convo, and I just feel like its AZ. That's all it is really
& I agree he probably couldnt make a radio friendly song, other than Undeniable which I thought was a solid attempt at going mainstream...but thats what makes him good.
That, for the most part, he's 9 albums in and its hard for anybody to find one bad verse from the guy. "Longevity"...thats his motto/slogan it seems. He prides himself on that and he only gets better with time
How could you not take that into account. So what if nobody's looking for AZ. You would think that'd make him care less and he'd slack off and put out really shitty music
But every song he drops is a gem as far as him displaying lyrical prowess or dropping knowledge

This song came out in March, so this is VERY recent AZ... listen to the song, the message, pay attention to the lyrics
all while reminding yourself that its 2012 and someone's still keepin it real with tunes like this
