[quote=Moses Kazee;951947][QUOTE=Letum;951929]I'm an Agnostic Theist. . . . .Wrap ya mind around that yo.

But when you think about it, being an Agnostic Theist is generally categorized as being a weak atheist... Its like playing both sides of the fence. If youre here why not believe fully in something? nahmean.... Atheists who identify themselves as agnostics are doing a grave disservice to free and rational thinkers.....
I would rather someone say they are Atheist, or Just plainly say they believe in themselves, then play the fence, fully believing in somthing is better than half heartedly, that stems past religion imo
|
If you think about its the best stance to have...
I believe in 'God' I have faith - I'm FAR from an Atheist bro. .... but I also Think a person who says their beliefs are true facts (w/o proof) are blind.
In religion, faith often involves accepting claims about the character of a deity, nature, or the universe. While some have argued that faith is opposed to reason, proponents of faith argue that the proper domain of faith concerns questions which cannot be settled by evidence.
Meaning I believe in God, but I question EVERYTHING. You needs facts to prove beliefs that religious nuts live blindly by... I however do not need facts to have faith.
I consider Agnostic Theism as having faith in 'God', but not belief in religion per say.
I know Jesus died on the cross for me ya know, that we have proof of... BUT I certainly think that Christianity like nearly all religions get twisted by ppl claiming certainties.

Nah theres nothing wrong with believing what you believe. All I'm saying is, most prominent figures in todays world will tell you, they had 100 percent faith in their profession. They blindly took classes in school, people blindly spend thousands of dollars on college, not knowing that they are going to get a job in that field, dedicating their whole lives to something in hopes of acheiving an end goal. Going through this process half heartedly would only make it harder to acheive. You blindly do alot of things everyday.

Horrible college comparison yo, but I get what you are saying.
I think you don't get what I'm saying tho.
I 100% have faith in a 'God'. But I'm not willing to fallow a path to 'God' that most sheeple fallow w/o proof of their beliefs.
Any Atheist or Religious nut are simply closed minded if you ask me.

I feel you, Im just confused as to who your God is........ if you believe in him nahmean? Who is he? What does he look like? I feel being Agnostic and saying you believe in God is being hypocrytical.... Because you have no proof God exist, you blindly say you believe in God,nahmean? Being Agnostic is being a walking contradiction imo.
Can you elaborate, so I can understand the thoughts of an Agnostic Theist? Not taking shots, I just like to understand the views of everyones religion, its interesting to me my g.

Aiight this is where it gets tricky......
I'm a Christian in the sense that Jesus died for me right.... but
I think all religions are corrupted by people as a group.
All religions basically saying the same 'golden rule' - That I fallow big time... but ahaa
I think god is Energy. (simply put[cannot be created or destroyed]) God is in every single person, plant, atom and every single fabric of life.
If you put GOOD 'Energy' into life life will take care of you. and the opposite for BAD 'Energy'.
My thoughts go deep.
Energy... shits crazy..

@ JimmyDean Wanna know some trippy shit?
Comparison of some life events of Horus and Jesus:
Horus Egyptian God - VS
Yeshua of Nazareth, a.k.a. Jesus
Conception: By a virgin. There is some doubt about this matter By a virgin. 3
Father: Only begotten son of the God Osiris.
Only begotten son of Yehovah (in the form of the Holy Spirit).
Mother: Isis-Meri. 4 Miriam (now often referred to as Mary).
Foster father: Seb, (a.k.a. Jo-Seph). 4 Joseph.
Birth location: In a cave. In a cave or stable.
Annunciation: By an angel to Isis, his mother. By an angel to Miriam, his mother. 3
Birth heralded by: The star Sirius, the morning star. An unidentified "star in the East."
Birth date: Ancient Egyptians paraded a manger and child representing Horus through the streets at the time of the winter solstice (about DEC-21). In reality, he had no birth date; he was not a human. Born during the fall. However, his birth date is now celebrated on DEC-25. The date was chosen to occur on the same date as the birth of Mithra, Dionysus and the Sol Invictus (unconquerable Sun), etc.
Birth announcement: By angels. By angels. 3
Birth witnesses: Shepherds. Shepherds. 3
Later witnesses to birth: Three solar deities. An unknown number of wise men. 3 They are said to have brought three gifts; thus the legend grew that there were three men.
Death threat during infancy: Herut tried to have Horus murdered. He was not successful. Herod tried to have Jesus murdered. He was not successful.
Handling the threat: The God That tells Horus' mother "Come, thou goddess Isis, hide thyself with thy child." An angel tells Jesus' father to: "Arise and take the young child and his mother and flee into Egypt."
Rite of passage ritual: Horus came of age with a special ritual, when his eye was restored. Taken by parents to the temple for what is today called a bar mitzvah ritual.
Age at the ritual: 12 12
Break in life history: No data between ages of 12 & 30. No data between ages of 12 & 30.
Baptism location: In the river Eridanus. In the river Jordan.
Age at baptism: 30. 30.
Baptized by: Anup the Baptiser. John the Baptist, a.k.a. John the Baptist.
Subsequent fate of the baptiser: Beheaded. Beheaded.
