Perhaps if each round was something different, it might work well..?

Round one: Concept. Round two: Scheme. Round three: Topical etc..

All while still sticking to the Cypher idea, so its not actually about battling or using battle bars against your opponent but writing the best bars you can while being tested each round with a different style/topic/set of rules...?

This^ sounds interesting cause otherwise this is just another name for Topical, where rhyming / sticking to your subject / imagery are key, not punchlines.

This^ sounds interesting cause otherwise this is just another name for Topical, where rhyming / sticking to your subject / imagery are key, not punchlines.
