That's the thing though, she has some of these powers, but after around 1700 and the reign of William of Orange legislation was introduced to ensure parliament quelled the influence of royal perogative and maintain a democratic rule, meaning parliament essentially hold full power.

Yeah, if she really wanted to she could, but we'd revert back to a state of 500 years ago where monarchs were all powerful and ultimately find ourselves at the mercy of a dictatorship. It just can't happen.

Fuck, in an Anglican society the queen is technically head of state, but the dominant religion in the UK now is Islam, so that's not even something to hold onto.
