@Crysis, I was planning to do a live draw (with numbers, for anonymity) just to generate some fan interest, but I'm still keeping options open as far as determining the randomness.

@Row You're right, there's not really a lot I can do to prevent that. The best response I can give is that the anonymous aspect doesn't give me much of a competitive advantage, since its purpose is more to keep things interesting to the spectators. I said before that I'd drop out if too many people find it unfair, but so far nobody else seems to have a problem with it.
