The banning of TALLY should be lifted. He has not broke any rules.

You are allowed to use text for audio, it isn't recycling.

@Murderous Swag, I don't see you at fault here in anyway. You did what was proper and consulted a more experienced mod before taking action. @Jason, I'm with you. Recycling is recycling and I'm not sure how "official" that policy was.
However, Just C and @Mindless put that out to the public that it was okay to re-use verses/lines across formats. I don't know if or what type of collective staff discussion was held at that time about this or if there was ever any consensus or if it was something that just those two decided.
But the point is A LOT of people on the site as a result are under the impression that this is the policy.
We can decide now whether or not it is okay to recycle across formats (text/audio), but I think TALLY might have been under the impression that it was okay due to the thread by Just C and Mindless referred to above. His ban should be lifted because his confusion on the issue is partly our (staff) fault.

Yeah Just C & Mindless brought in that "Text-audio recycling is OK" rule to help increase the audio activity levels.

No-ones really at fault here, although Swag that status is a lil childish lol.

We need to decide whether to continue allowing text-to audio recycling and then publically making a statement either way.

I've actually seen a few people do it recently, including S1 The Sick...so I don't know how much increase in audio/text activity can be attributed to people re-using lines across formats. I agree with RULE. Whatever decision we come up with, we should put out a public statement to let people know.
Cause let's be perfectly honest...
A lot of people that we respect have re-used their written text material in other formats like live battling...including Real Talk, Conceited and Illimit. Personally, I'm with it either way. And if we decide that this form of recycling is no longer permitted, the punishment should not be retroactive...as in anyone caught swapping audio/text verses before the day we state its no longer permissible should not be punished.

There is no one to blame for TALLY being banned, both Swag & Jay acted accordingly.

I just want to make sure we're all on board/up to speed on all rules. Think a proper new thread needs to be made for all this type of stuff, so any new rules/new staff members can read up on it.

I was always under the impression you were allowed to, I remember seeing it in the threads a lot of times AND after asking about it I got told I was allowed and I've been here since '06 lol
