Alot of rappers rap about "Time" now.

I like to drop knowledge every now and then..this isn't some illuminati/doomsday type of thread either. But I wonder why alot of rappers are talking about time?


Jadakiss - "Shoot me in the watch, I got time to kill" - On The Carter IV
Lil Wayne - "I get money to kill time, dead clocks" - On The Carter IV
J. Cole ft Jay-Z - "Mr. Nice WATCH" - On J. Cole's new album

These are just the ones I know off top and some of the easiest ya'll can find since these albums/songs leaked all over the internet. & I think the reason rappers talk about time is because Time = money.

Time is a concept invented by man to keep track of when the sun goes up and down. It's not something existential to the world we live in. What do the people with A LOT of money have? Free time. If you disagree, even the busiest celebs have time. With that money they can spend it however they want, whereever they want, whenever they want, etc.

What about the average person? We get $$$ by giving time. Think about it. You work a 9-5 and are rewarded at the end of the week with money. You get money for giving up your time, because time is limited on this earth & this is something EVERYONE knows. And those that don't have alot of it, want alot of it. Those that have a lot of it, want more. (The rich & the powers that be)

If you commit a crime, you do time. If you evade taxes, you do time. Why? Because taxes are $$ that you owe the government, and if you can't pay it - they take time away from you.

Time = money, except it's more valuable, and those at the top know they'd trade all the wealth in the world for some extra time.

I think you're right Pulse. Time is valuable as fuck. People waste it all the time, and years down the road regret doing so. People who are fortunate don't really know how important time is, in my opinion.

No, what I'm saying is fortunate/rich people KNOW how important time is. That's why they're greedy and want more money. They know money gives them time.

Those that are broke have to bust their ass and give up time to earn money, and with that money, they earn time. Because they can do w/e with it.

u guys are right .... why waste time when u can be using it to better yourself somehow, or shit even help someone out maybe they'lll give up some of their time down the road to help you out

why play video games, do drugs, watch tv, etc when u could be doing something productive

i never thoughta it like that ..... i just thought "hey, imma be dead in the end i might aswelll have a blast while it lasts"

on second thought ... its better to manage ur time n have ur cake and eat it too
