iPod dropped in toilet. Heartbroken. - Lets Beef

Frantically scrubbed with a towel and stuck it in a bowl of uncooked white rice with a vent heater underneath it (was told by a friend).

Shit is the only thing I care about materialistically, if my phone dropped in the toilet, I wouldn't really give two shits (pun intended).

Anything else people can suggest?

if you can open it up and use a hairdryer possibly, then DO NOT try and turn it out for a day or so, then hopefully it magically works in a couple days.

but be patient with it

I was thinking of just letting it dry naturally of it's own accord, it has a way of short-circuiting itself so it can defend it's electrical components.

Didn't think of hairdryer though, will try that out.

yea I've had a few lucky run ins with water and electrical appliances in my day, but there has also been the few that turned on with a fucked up screen and the few that never even came close to turning on again.

hopefully the prevention thing will save it, but then I have to believe they would make sure any water damage fucks it so they can get more money :/

Deffo on that second point. Seeing as iPod is the leading mobile music product, why would they care about making them militant? Clumsy rich motherfuckers would just buy and buy again. Kinda fucked up, really, but a good marketing strategy.

Worst comes to worse, I'll buy another second hand renewed 160gb for £100 or more. Pissed off though, this cost me £200.

I was cleaning my bathroom listening to my iPod, at one point I was cleaning behind the toilet. When I stood up, my iPod came out of my pocket and dangled above the toilet because I had my headphones in. The jack plug couldn't hold it and it plunged into a toilety doom.

Water seems to be coming out from behind the screen in the bowl of rice though, I have hope.
