Do you think...
An openly gay male rapper could find success in the industry? I think there's gotta be some DL male artists in the industry but rejection doesn't sell so of course they'd keep it under wraps to preserve image and maintain a strong fan base. I mean homosexuals are being accepted in other music genres and the movie industry with open arms but I have a hard time seeing that carry over into hip-hop unless one of the legends break the ice. Personally, as long as a dude got bars and he not kissing brothas in music videos I could care less about orientation.
What's ya'll take on this LB?

Aren't Danny Brown and Roscoe Dash on that 'Questionable' list.
If either one of them pops out the closet... I wouldn't hate on them cause they both got skillz.
Depends on how the individual carries themselfs. On some grown shit.

I don't think it would be that much of an issue as long as the person ain't rapping about sucking dick.
Other rappers are going to hate though...especially if the person gets any kind of success, that will be the first thing that comes up. You know rappers love to start beef with and go after whoever's on top no matter what. I can only imagine what would happen if that person was openly Gay.

I don't think hip hop is ready for it yet tbh, i think that mentality of people still hate on homosexuals. It's fine for a female gay person in the industry though lmao

yeah but that could easily backfire on that hatin artist tho bc somethin like that could get politicial leadin stations to stop playin em, protests at their concerts/album signings by activists n that homophobe label could do damage business-wise too

I think you're right, but that's not going to stop up and comers from clowning that person if they are anywhere near the top of Hip-Hop charts. Even without someone like that on the scene, not many rappers are blatantly homophobic, and even when they say homophobic shit, they tip-toe around it....Like when Cassidy was dissing Lil Wayne about kissing Baby, he was like "I ain't saying I got something against a man kissing another man, I'm just saying I wouldn't do that." And then you got all these rappers that have went on record supporting Gay marriage, especially when put on the spot about the issue in interviews. I think these rappers know it would kill their careers to be blatantly ant-gay in today's society, but let somebody Gay try to rap and take over the game and watch what happens.

If Shady signed Danny Brown I bet he'd go unschathed for a year minimum.
