Murda Muzik Vs Turnbull AC's: On Paper

These two crews have been making a splash on letsbeef.com for a while now, with the AC's progressing up through the ranks slowly but surely, and MM having a powerful impact in a relatively short space of time.

As an impartial onlooker, ive decided to analyse the two crews, in lieu of them actually facing each other in competition.

Brief Overview

Turnbull AC's

The AC's is the brainchild of EtH, a crew that started out little, slowly progressing and elevating, to become one of the crews fighting for the distinction of being the sites best. The AC's is not a supercrew that formed overnight, the likes of which we've seen many times in the past, but a crew that has evolved slowly but surely.

Murda Muzik

Murda Muzik is a group of members under the leadership of GRizzEAT and to a slightly lesser extent: AfterThought. Many of the crews members have been in groups together in the past, from a lineage that began with Classick At Rhymin, and made its way through Goon Squad into its current incarnation.

Figureheads

Turnbull AC's

AC's clear and revered figurehead is the incomparable EtH. A man who has split opinions on this site for over six years. His current run on the site has been beyond doubt his finest in terms of impact, battle quality and legacy. His rising stature helps to raise the respect of the AC's equally, making them almost overly reliant on him. Whilst he has perhaps not cemented himself as a bonafide heavyweight in any format of the site thus far, his reputation compensates to give the crew a strong leader. EtH aside the AC's dont really have anyone who is viewed as a clear second, although a few names come to mind as possibilities in the near future, such as Illokwent, Streetz Da Hood and OSKAR.

Murda Muzik

MM is the house that GRizzEAT built, with AfterThought being viewed by many as being the second in command. Whilst both have a strong pedigree in text and audio battling as well as track making, some doubts have followed GRizzEAT due to poor decisions relating to conduct and honesty. This creates almost a polar opposite to EtH, which adds to the dynamic difference of the two squads. AfterThought is a more than worthy successor to GRizzEAT, his skills and reputation are lauded and while he is on the cusp of being considered a heavyweight in text and audio battling, he lacks the charisma and aura of EtH & GRizzEAT. No-one other than these two are currently positioned to rise to the rank of leader within MM.

Heavyweights / Notable Members

Turnbull AC's

The common problem with having an elevation crew is that for the most part you'll always being working with up and comers rather than legitimate top level battlers. The strongest AC's members in the field of text battling would be EtH and Phenomonon, who both could be considered as upper-mid card battlers. Both being capable of strong verses but not yet reaching a level that would deem them championship contenders. The crew has a number of battlers i would place at a mid-card level, meaning that they can write solid verses that would (or could) defeat people in the same bracket as them, but lack the skills or knowledge to elevate higher at the present time. In the audio battling arena they have Badnews Biskits who should probably be considered a upper-midcard battler, who just requires some more battles (and victories) against heavyweight status opponents. OSKAR and Duh Great Whyte are also always-improving battlers in this department who have become solid mid-card audio heads, both need to tweak some elements to make that next step. In the track making side the AC's currently have no-one of overt merit, recent departures from the squad weakening the crew majorly in this element, although the three previously mentioned audio battlers have improved in the field. Finally in the topical arena the AC's boast the likes of EtH, who whilst yet to make an impact on letsbeef, carries a good reputation off of it. They also have Jam Jar who has carved a very solid topical record as of late and also the talents of InCizion (who currently resides in the AC's feeder crew of The Chloroformers) but who you'd believe is due a call up to the main roster at any time.

Murda Muzik

Murda Muzik boasts a much more impressive array of names on paper than its rivals. GRizzEAT is considered a bonafide text heavyweight, with AfterThought and GOOD GRIEF being prominant upper-mid card textcees. Dono, AmbitiousFlow and Jimmy Dean forming a very strong midcard trio. Also in the audio battling field GRizzEAT is yet again considered a heavyweight, Murderous Swag would also be classed as a top tier audio battler, with AfterThought again at that upper-mid card level. In track making the MM crew has numerous lauded song writers, with Grizzy, AT, Murderous Swag, Freezy and Dono all highly respected by the sites elite. In the topical writing element the MM crew boasts the sites undisputed best active topical writer: Dono. With wigsplit being the crews only other notable topical emcee. The crew houses a number of recognised site champions, with Grizzy being both a LBA and LBT Champion, also the reigning Scheme Champion and runner-up in the recent Audio Grand Championship. Dono has become a recent walking treasure trove, with a One Bar Championship to go along with his more impressive feat of being the first ATT Champion, awarded for winning the first Anonymous Topical tournament. Dono and AfterThought have a number of runner-up trophies as well, and Jimmy Dean & AmbitiousFlow are rookie champions.

Summary

Whilst on paper it would seem that Murda Muzik has the stronger squad as far as reputation is concerned, you cannot overlook the underdog effect, and the fact that AC's is an elevation crew, which by its very nature means its members are likely to be more talented than their reputations would suggest. With a possible crew battle slated for an approximate late date in september, the rosters are likely to change which could swing the balance of power either way. Nevertheless, the rivalry threatens to become a memorable one in the history of the site.
