APRIL TASKS

Here are the things I'd like us to cover this month. Please let me know which one of these you'd like to volunteer for @Rant @Subreal @Lockhart

Text/Audio Hotlist
Looking after the hot list basically means making sure the hot list is filled. If you are assigned to this task and you are the only one that's assigned to it, it means you should periodically check the Latest Open Battles section, look for all battles with only 4 votes and vote on them so that they may have five votes and reach the hot list. You should do this even when the hot list is filled because some of the battles that are on a filled list may be closing soon. If there are two people assigned to this task, you and one other person, it means one of you will be checking for (and voting on) every battle with only 3 votes while the other is checking every battle with only 4 votes. It's important that we keep the hot list filled because there are members who only vote on hot list battles and also, hot list battles appear in the Text Featured and Audio Featured boxes that appear throughout the site so more people become exposed to those battles which in turn encourages more people to vote.

I think everyone already understands what this means. It's what has basically been the only function of the FVC up until now. If you are assigned to this task, it means that you will make a voting thread in FVC text or audio and answer whatever requests are posted in that thread by voting on them.

Text/Audio Closing Battles
Looking after the closing battles basically means making sure battles close on time. If you are assigned to this task and you are the only one who's assigned to it, it means you should periodically check the Battles Closing Soon section, look for all the battles with only 2 votes and vote on them so that they may have the required three votes to close. You only need to do this for battles that are three days old or older. All battles are scheduled to close after three days, but if they do not attain the required three votes within that time, they will take longer to close. When a battle is held up due to not having the required three votes, all battles that were opened after it will also be held up and will not close regardless of whether or not they have the required three votes. You guys may have experienced times like these when all the battles do not close sometimes for even up to a week. Then mods (or admin) have to search frantically through a long list to find the one or more battles from several days behind which had failed to secure three votes and vote on all of them. Well, it's better to prevent that from happening in the first place and just keep things flowing smoothly. By voting on all battles in the Battles Closing Soon section which have only two votes, we'll keep the battle queue running fine. If there are two people assigned to this task, you and one other person, it means one of you will be checking for (and voting on) every battle with only 1 vote while the other is checking every battle with only 2 votes.

If you guys have any questions on any of these, please let me know. Once you select which task you'd like to run and I've confirmed, I will make a thread wherein you shall post every battle you vote on that's related to your task. If people ask you to vote on their battles as an FVC member, you may still do so but it is not required (unless your task is the voting threads). If you do so, we will log those votes as well in a separate section.
