Do we need to go to that?

I suppose it's a point of view that either we all come off as buddy buddy with people by being seen as friends with power, or we take on an image of over-seer
that's cold, calculating and there to do a job.

I'm fairly torn, because each has it's points. Just wanted to know your thoughts?

Philly's football mb uses them. Obviously regs know who's who, but on the surface it seems that Moderator5 isn't that guy you see in the thread talking about Vick.

I just wonder if it would cut down on the appearance of favortism and issues concerning one mod doing shit an opposing crew doesn't like.

I personally wouldn't mind if I didn't have the colored name or title that distinguishes me as a mod, but as far as what you're seeking to address, I don't really think it would make a difference in the long run. People will know that I'm a mod based on my actions and comments, and where they appear. If you're saying mod actions should be anonymous, I don't agree with that either. If I remove a vote against my crew member on his battle, people should be able to see that for various reasons that keeping them from thinking it may be due to bias doesn't outweigh.
I personally feel that as a mod, someone is going to find something wrong with what you do no matter what...because people generally have a level of fear and resentment towards authority. The most that we can do is choose who we mod wisely and get rid of anyone who misuses their mod powers. To me what it comes down to is.. How you handle yourself when dealing with user beef directed towards yourself.. Ive always chosen to keep the beefing to a minimum and avoid pointless bickering and arguing where I can.. In my eyes it's a bad look for site personnel.. On the other hand this site is different than others.. the beefing comes with the territory... All you guys were users on here before you were mods so it's expected that you will get into tiffs but IMO all mods shopuld take the high ground when faced with one of those situations.. idk.. take it as advice not something you have to follow but you can gain peoples trust/loyalty a lot better if you can avoid the nonsense that comes up... If i paid you all.. id make you all be more professional

I agree with @NOBLE about the abuse, the biased perspective and the reaction an individual can have to MOD actions .. also it wouldnt be smart to have anonymity amongst the site as staff becuz It would be even more difficult to contact any staff for help .. and for real tho we are mods and got to do what mods do and all but we also ARE emcees .. dudes talk shit then we gotta react drop tracks and stand our ground but when you got assholes like pronto making 6 accounts to express his opinion on a persons overall talent .. you've got to draw the line somewhere .. Seperate the men from the kids and shocking occurences begin to transpire .. Alot of ratpacking goes on and false rumors go around but in the end us mods MAKE ORDER .. or at least thats what we set out to do .. LOL Im talking mad shit right now but fuck it Im just saying .. as MEN we should know right from wrong, whos who, and how to go about shit .. it may vary cuz we are all from different upbringings but RIGHT IS RIGHT AND FAIR IS FAIR

When I use the term anonymous mods, I meant having a non personal Mod account (Like Mod1-10) that could be contacted and used for site moderation and 'our' accounts are the ones that would be free to do whatever we wished as users like beef, battle, whatever.

The concept to the idea was in lowering our general public status to limit the "oh he's friends with, in a crew with, is beefing with a mod" or "I'm not gonna battle, beef, vote for/against, whatever cuz he's a mod". Most of you all have multi's you play around with as regular users already, this would just shift public image off your main account in similar fashion.

Pugz made a solid statement why to keep things as is, and I said in my OP that I saw both sides and this was just juggling ideas.

On the personal level, being seen with the mod tag in everyday forum threads gives us that personable relation with the users. It allows us to seen as everyday guys with power that other users can work toward and has a homely feel.

As Pugz stated, if he were to actually ever pay us, I would probably push the AM thing more for the professionalism, but it's not something that must be done now.
