White Rappers: Some Real Shit
aight....so i'm reading the thread about industry ready rappers..and i'm thinking...wait...how many white rappers are there in the industry...so i did some thinking..
and before get into this..yall know i'm not racist against white folks...only asians...fuck them..
but check it..look at the industry past and present...there are some commonalities and trends..
the vast majority of rappers are:
1. from very urban areas of AMERICA
2. AMERICAN
3. Black
4. have a relevant story to tell of poverty, crime, etc
5. started rapping between the late 80s and early 2000s
what i mean by that last one is...rap as far as i'm concerned started slowly dying years ago...so even if you are truly hip hop at heart, the system will fuck it up...listen to LASERS and you'll completely understand...RAW lyrics and pop hooks and beats...
so...
if you are a white kid from West Bubblefuck, Indiana...who is trying to tell us that you are the next up....are you aware of the uphill challenge you have?
There's only one seriously relevant white rapper in the hall of fame (or even close)...and he was LIGHTYEARS ahead of the game, so you almost take him out of the equation as another talent of his level is unlikely to occur...
now...
battling is different...people are much more diverse and tolerant...and its dope that way...but seriously...even for someone from the heart of Brooklyn, or LA, or Houtson...who is black...and has SERIOUS TALENT...its a fucking loooooooong shot to make it...
so how do you rate Interp's chances?

good point....BUT lol...
there arent 9 black rappers and 1 white one...there are HUNDREDS of black rappers and 1 white one....so rather than bucking the trend and being different...i think this is more of an actuality...for some reason...and i really cant say why...America doesnt want a white rapper to be famous...plenty try i'm sure...but none really get there but Marshall.
you could actually make the argument that Marshall IS that one gimmick that you speak of

and actually...the argument can be made that Em is shafted from some of the respect he should get....i know PLENTY of street niggas that would NEVER rock an Em disc...when he is EASILY top 5 pure writers of all time....and they'd rock NaS...so its not just a matter of taste....its truly just the race factor.
