Where is Hip-hop longevity?

I was wondering, What could I post and would be a good discussion? Why is it that rap songs have the attention span of a fly? But, you see other genres like rock and country songs have spans that last generations! What could we do to change that?

actually I've been thinking about this. I think that hip hop has evolved quickly so the older music is quickly forgotten. I do believe that at some time it will stabilize, and then and only then songs will gain "timeless" status. Since rock music (which I like as well) is really about 3 to 5 chords and decent lyrics, hip hop/rap has quite an indepth poetry associated with it that is still being altered (i.e. multis are only what? 15-20 years old?). idk... just what I think.

oh thats a good topic, but also one where you can discuss an eternity.

One thing is that there is so much music out today, that its hard to make a choice what to really love. Due to that there are not so many legends anymore like the Rolling Stones andso. And HipHops legends are like dead.

Another thing is the missing dynamic in nowadays music. Im a music producer and sound engineer and I know people always want everything LOUD AS HELL to get attention, but the thing is, the louder the more stressful it is to listen to, so you wanna just skip it. And the difference between loud and small volume parts is like not there at all so there is a lot of tension missing so its boring.

And about rap or hiphop especially its like anyone is a mofuckin artist and not a fan anymore cause you dont need to be able to do anything to be a rapper. Dont get me wrong it takes much to be a good rapper,but anyone can do it. Download a sequenzer, get a headset thats it. No learning of instruments and people to appreciate your abilities.
