Text vs. Audio - Lets Beef

alot of shit notice w/ text wouldnt fly in audio.. alot of forced multies and wordplay that wouldnt work if u were rappin it or recording. so why do ppl feel to vote or hype up a textcee who cant produce his ''text'' work in audio presence? that defeats the purpose. u should be able to read a text verse and deliver it as if u were bout rap it. if you can't then there should be no point in text battling. some shit i read sounds mad stupid and stretched the fuck it if recited in audio. in other words, some off yall 'textcees' is hyped off complete :bs:

i feel where ya comin from tana, but to each his own. some people aren't good at delivery and dont feel comfortable on a mic, doesn't mean they can't WRITE some clever shit. and when you cant perform in one aspect of something you love you tend to focus soley on the other.basically, why should someone who cant deliver worry bout how it 'sounds'.......just sayin

the biggest issue is textcees feel superior to audio as the complexities can be easier seen, thats were the issues arrive, following a perfect structure is good but over a beat that cant always happen etc etc dudes need to realise theres alot more to audio than they simply think

At least text tries to be clever. I've heard audio heads say some of the dumbest things in the world.

Also, same issues, bad wordplay, forced multis, ect. Essentially, a lot of the people do audio shit that doesn't fly in audio. I'd rather they pipe down and be awful writers than awful writers and rappers.

This from a converted text head. Overall, I prefer audio these days. But I get it.

@Dono really that could have something to do with genuine freestyles, it takes time to write a verse, and you would like to think anyone writing would edit out bad shit before going with it, thats something you cant do if its off the top of your head were as you can proof read any text battle beore submitting, i agree there is a middle ground but its not a cause for condescension

I always read a verse with the view it should be audible, even if the writer has no plan of saying it out loud, thats how words work, we use them to speak. Pretty simple really.

You start saying text doesn't apply to audio then you open the door to all manner of ridiculously forced wordplay. you have to remember Texters are in the minority. Most people who write lyrics do so with the intention of reciting them out loud, as do a good portion of of those already in the minority texters, so with that said you have to abide by the same set of rules that come with that.
