Voting Power (VP) done differently
As most of you probably already know, everyone who signs up to the website gets a default voting power that is either raised or lowered whenever a staff member decides to. Besides the arbitrary nature of how VP gets raised or lowered, there are several issues with that set-up that I can point out if I need to, but I won't get into that right away for fear of making this OP too long.
The point of this post is to ask: What if we make it so that VP is determined by feedback from the battlers whose battles are voted on themselves? What if after people vote on your battle and give their ratings/feedback, you and your opponent can also rate the voters themselves in terms of how well they explained their votes and how reasonable their ratings and assessments were? What if the average of these ratings of the voters becomes their functional VP that is auto-updated after every battle they vote on?
Now obviously, this would be open to abuse in the sense that most people would obviously rate a voter who voted against them low even if that person's vote was objectively fair, and they would rate a vote high even if it was wack just because the person voted for them (keep in mind the VP change would take into account the ratings from both the person you voted for and the person you voted against). To prevent against this sort of abuse, we set it up so that a VP change only occurs when BOTH battlers rate the vote AND when the mean of both ratings combined on a scale of 1-9 is something other than 5.
What do you guys think?
