The court/law scheme is continued playing off WITNESS and the phrase, "CRIME of PASSION." It's also a reference to the 1957 film of the same name where Barbara Stanwyck has a relationship with a cop which sets up the flip of "Under covers/Undercovers" and the next line.

Then a play off of SIREN (Cops) but also SIREN as in the creatures in Greek Mythology who seduce with their voices and also live in the water, setting up the use of TRIDENT, alluding to Posiedon who is apart of Greek Mythology.
