IAmFlow: you’d had the better rhymes and smoother flowing piece but feel your punches lacked in comparison to Lock’s. Putting it down to ring rust. Not bad at all, perhaps need few more bouts to shake it off.

Rieper: Some of your multis didn’t rhyme, example: JOTTIN’ IN HIS SCRIPTS/NOVICE FISHERMAN... don’t go together. Nonetheless you had the harder hitting punchlines here.

Overall: a good read from both, feel Rieper took the W here with better concepts and harder hitting punches. Fairs in, I’m out.

Flow had really long set ups to some of his punches. The opener especially that ended in one of the sites most played personals, and it wasnt done in a way that was very impactful. The Malaysia airlines thing didnt really tickle that current events spot. And the grammar on the rai's in a box bar kind of threw me off. The LOTR was your best bar probably but that wasnt killing it either.

Lock was just more polishe . Internal rhyme ro push the flow was nice. I am legend bar was dirty. BoTb. I'm not a huge fan of the multi string style of punches in the first place. You upped the usual double to a triple and in the process ended 2 sequences in a row with boost which is an amateur mistake and I'm surprised you made it. Even though, got lock taking this one.

Good battle. Quite clean drops from both. Made for an enjoyable read. Some good creativity on both sides. I think Locks punches may have had a little more sting on the aggregate but what really helped me pick a winner was there was 2 spots where flow used 3-4 lines to build into 1 punch and those specific punches weren't all that strong to me and so it felt like a lot of extra space in the build up for kind of low payoff. Whereas I didn't really think Lock "wasted" space in that way. Fairs in good read. Good to see flow back in it.

Iam You started off strong up until the smeagol and gandalf line i was with you! You were talking dirty.  After that though the verse kinda went downhill. The lock out the picture memory loss punch was my fav from you.

Riep I didn't really care for the nixon line and the simons minion bar was cool. After that though, you got in your bag. The novice fisher bar was hot. The i am legend bar hit. Do a number on flow... nigga the rest of the fucking verse was a hit! I got lock taking this one.

Fairs in fellas. enjoyed the read.

cool battle first verse was enjoyable but punches felt a little too dragged out second verse had more zingers and was slightly easier to read but had hit or miss punches but ill give it to the second verse for punching in more frequent.

Wow, good job fellas, great personals, flow and punches from both sides.

Best line from IAF

you brought your baggage and going down with less wait than the malAYSIA AIRLINES!!

Iam you did real good, you flowed well and connected in a smooth way. There were a few bars that were ok but for the most part you were consistent and suave ;-).

Best line from Rieper

throwin out lines, but I caught nothin' impressive" like a NOVICE FISHERMAN!

Rieper your opening was fire and the rest was dope too, especially the line above. I was a bit lost with the iamlegend line because I don't think the dog tried to kill will Smith, he protected him. Other than that you stayed consistent and dropped goodies

I want to vote tie but I'm leaning more towards rieper just for a bit harder punches. Good ish fellas

IAmFlow wasn't bad by any means, but I felt Rieper was a level beyond him in pretty much every way. More complex concepts coupled with cleaner execution got him the W here, even though his opponent wasn't lacking in those either. And stop with the Rohaan bars, that was so last decade.

Bars I liked from both:

Smeagol & Gandalf

Malaysia Airlines

Novice fisherman

Surfboarder's competition

Shepherd's life

Fair's in.

Rieper - 1, cause we never wanted you on staff, so ya just another "MINION... OF SIMON'S"!  ---- 2,  we're cool in IM's but what RULE'll try to proVIDE FOR DUDE IS TRASHY ---- 3, we can all see the WEB OF LIES W/ HIS CREW, RULE's "usin' this crook ---- You actually had RULE in this verse more that your opponent. The punches and rhyme scheme was on point. Not very complex. which is good and bad. good - due to voters grasping a understanding, Bad because this shouldn't be treated as a simple battle. a tourney verse needs complexity.

Flow -  no 'hot drops', even X removed his 'mod spot' to get rid of the pins & NEEDLES HE STANDS ON, so Riep lost his 'ring and his staff'... Shit! That's where Tolkien got the ideas for SMEAGAL & GANDOLF --- This was your best bar in the whole verse, Had a bit of word play, and a nice lord of the rings punch. Your multies started out sort of mixy and needing more attention but you quickly straightened them out around the middle of the verse.

Overall - Not a very impressive battle concidering i have seen some of the best verse from both parties.

Let me know if you want more of an expo.

Flow, this was a really good drop. Punchlines were good, rhyming was good, delivery worked. I pegged you as a huge underdog in this battle and you've come out with a really commendable verse. You took a personal approach initially, but the only problem is Lock has taken these shots for so long now that it's hard to bring something new and original. Your biggest downside is you got really wordy in your deliveries and had a lot of stuff inbetween each rhyme. Need to either shorten those up or bring some more internal rhyme schemes.

Lock, I thought you too were a little bit wordy in your build ups. I didn't get it there was supposed to be a flip or something in the Minion of Simon's line. Sounded just like you were saying a statement. Punches were pretty good and well delivered, with slick rhyming for the most part, but I think you focused a bit too much on nameplay which really isn't what I wanted to see.

Overall, this is extremely hard. I think Flow impressed me while Lock didn't, but then again that's the bias of having Flow unexpectedly bring something good while Lock probably did slightly worse than his best so I'm conscious not to let that slip in. I think Lock maybe delivers his stuff a little better and has the build up line with a punchline which notches him ahead of Flow, but I also think I felt Flow was going for the neck a little more while Lock coasted on nameplay.

Probably controversial and it may well be a result of bias, but I think I personally enjoyed Flow's verse a little bit more and at the end of the day that's what I tend to gravitate towards.

Sick as fuck battle guys. Trying to vote a bit more positively so going to drop 9s on it too.

This was a solid battle with some nice lines from both sides, but I have Rieper taking this relatively comfortably due to having higher-highs and fewer wording issues in his verse.

Flow, you lived up to your name with a lot of really nice internal rhymes keeping everything moving smoothly throughout. A lot of your multis seemed like slants to me but I think it's just down to differences in our accents so that didn't bother me. Your best line was the Malaysia airlines bar, I thought that was well-executed and clear. Using the Rohaan personals on Lock is in my opinion a poor choice in general; they're very predictable and Lock was able to predict them. I thought your LOTR punch had some serious potential, but the wording was off which really hurt its impact. "Riep lost his staff" doesn't really make sense, right? He stopped being staff, but presumably he didn't have staff of his own to lose. If you'd reworded this so that it made more sense both ways, it could have been a real haymaker.

Rieper, you had some dope lines here, but you can (and should) do so much better than you did here. I thought the Nixon and minion lines were pretty dope and built off each other nicely, making a great start to your verse. The fishermen punch was very played though. The whole lines/fishing thing is very stale, if Rican wasn't banned I guarantee there'd already be 10 threads up accusing you of biting this line from really similar ones elsewhere because it's so overused. I liked the I Am Legend punch a lot, but the surf boarders one didn't come off well due to the wording. I'm not gonna lambast you on this one because I know it was semi-joking, but the rest of your verse was wracked with terribly forced multis. "shepherd's life would ensue" doesn't make sense, it should be entail instead of ensue, and even so it's not particularly natural wording. Get rid of FUEL/use an electric car lines are almost RULE-tier overdone. Also I don't really think "a domestic violence dispute" makes too much sense or sounds very natural. You had some absolute haymakers in the verse but you're gonna

A little bit closer then I figured, yet not close enough. My winner had everything going for him, came in with a haymaker opener and left with his opponents head on a swivel by the end of his verse. That's not to take away from the loser though, I enjoyed reading his verse, lots of jabs and some neat multis. We need more battles like this one, LB
