Official Text Cypher Tourney Thread
 

Here are the official rules for how this tourney will run. These rules are subject to change up to the point when the tourney starts on 07/13/22.


1. Each contestant will write sixteen bars about anything they want to. These don't need to be battle bars or anything specific. Just write your best sixteen bar verses.



2. We will be using the 32 line box and verses must be written in the format of a half bar per line. So instead of:

You sayin’ my style ain’t aggressive enough/Like you ain’t gonna listen less I’m steppin it up/I don’t get hype talkin’ ‘bout weapons n stuff/‘Cause that’s just the way it is when I step in the cut//


It should be formatted as:
Sayin’ my style ain’t aggressive enough
Like you ain’t gonna listen less I’m steppin it up
I don’t get hype talkin’ ‘bout weapons n stuff
‘Cause that’s just the way it is when I step in the cut


If you break the format you forfeit.


3. Have fun with this. The cypher section is basically dead so this is an opportunity for you guys to shine and write some really good stuff outside of your comfort zone. Let's see what you've got.

I agree with this aside from the format shit.. What if someone starts spitting like Eminem though?

The format is completely taking away from the flow which I planned on having..

Tournament is postponed a day due to an issue with the tourney system. We'll get it worked out though.






You have 32 lines to fill out in. You should be able to manage to do the same thing in that amount of space as you would a 16 line box

Its not correct. Its not open yet. Seems there was an error with the brackets.

um, I've got 4 different ones showing up for me to enter verses for, any idea which one I should use...or none of them?
