A 32 man tourney that handed out 28 wild cards and the rest of the participants were selected from March's rankings. This tournament is set to be filled with excitement and heavyweight battles that you wouldn't want to miss as LB's best audio battlers go head to head to determine our newest Grand Champion. This year provides possibly the best tournament yet with many Hall of Famers, Vets, Activer battlers & MC's with alot to prove stepping in the ring with one goal in mind...BEING THE BEST. This is the section were all participants will be given a brief two line summary. Their Strengths,Weaknesses and How far they can go in the tournament will be mentioned.

OSKAR -

OSKAR has strongly improved his audio battling game, and has already made a bigger mark in this field that he ever did in text. A former LBA title contender, OSKAR will be a dark horse.

Manhattan -
Good pen game and better quality of punches than most participants. However, due to his inexperience his execution will hurt him. I believe he'll be eliminated 2-3 rounds in.


AfterThought-
Great mic skills, very comfortable and a great battler. Can't think of many flaws other than his no show habits. Possible winner but I think he'll no show somewhere in the quarter finals.


M-Rock-
The previous champ has a lot of pressure to defend his title. His delivery is very nice and his pen game's smooth. Due to the level of competition i'd expect him to lose in the quarter finals.

Rohaan-
Inexperienced with an accent that can impact his execution. He has shown that he knows how to punch so it'll be interesting. I predict a 1st round elimination.

Fiji Osa-
His live battlin experience allows him to know what should be done to win an audio battle. He has the delivery and the pen game and we could be lookin at our darkhose.

Dono-
Elevated like crazy and he was last year's finalist. Majorly underrated but like M-Rock the level of competition maybe to much for him to win it all.

RULE-
This dude can punch and he has shown that his delivery is pretty much on point to. He has gotten some major audio wins and I think he could easily be a semifinalist.

Agonize-
Not much that can be said as he just made his transition from the text side. It will be interesting to see what he brings over to audio

Duh Great Whyte-
Like osa he has live battling experience and he's delivery's topnotch. I do feel that his pen game is lacking but he'll execute his material like crazy. Quarter finalist material.

UhMAZING-
Has show signs of improvement and the fact that this is an acapella tourney help his case. I don't see him getting passed the 2nd round however and into the quarters.

Phil Banks-
Semi-finalist material if not finalist. He comes hot of a Scheme Tourney win and is a former Audio GC winner. If he brings his A game he can win it all.

Schematix-
Great delivery/mic presence/execution but his pen game can use some tweaking.
He can go far if he shows up and give all these vets a close battle.

Tha Dope Man-
Has a fairly good delivery and has shown that sometimes he can create some nice punches. If he stays away from filler, punch more and bring his best he can possibly reach the quarter finals.

FiNAL WoRD-
Another underrated cat that has greatly improved. He beat MRock twice last month and reached the Scheme Final losing a close battle to Banks. If he brings his best he can win the tourney...honestly...

Mob_Figure-
Average delivery and Pen game from what I've heard. Haven't heard alot from him but he shouldn't be looking into a great tourney run..not yet at least.

M U G G Z-
Great delivery and some clever lines. If he brings his best he can make a solid run and reach the quarter finals

tyco RC-
Has a nice delivery and flow but his pen game needs some work. He doesn't have many battles with veterans and I think that can hurt him in the tourney.

Jason-
Current LBA Champ. This guy beat stricc in his first battle back after a long time. He has the pen game and the delivery and I expect him to reach the final.

MAN DOWN-
Scheme Tourney semi finalist. We already know that this dude has game from text and when it comes to audio he still delivers. He had two close encounters with banks last month so it'll be interested to see how far he can go.

GreenTipz ~RRR~-
From what I've heard he has an average pen game and I believe he's lacking that aggressive delivery tht'll make his punches connect to the fullest. 1st round elimination imo

Ticket-
2x Audio Grand Champion, Audio Hall of Famer...need I say more? This dude has finalist written all over him and I expect him and Jason to go head to head to determine the first ever 3xGrand Champion title holder

FREAK MC-
Good flow and delivery but his punching game is far from heavyweight status. No hate to him but I don't see him making an impact in a tournament yet.

stricc-
To many blue titles, one of the best audio battlers, hands down the best freestyler on here. Who can stop stricc? I wouldn't want to be in his way

FAME-
Has live battling experience, great delivery but I hope he's over his Jokes over Bars phase if he is to make an impact. His rustiness can get the best of him to but if he's at his best he can make a good run.

Vlad Badweather-
The weakest out of all participants imo. From his one battle I heard he hasn't got any delivery or pen game to claim an average run in the tourney. First round elimination

Bleu-
This guy impressed me in the Text GC, I think he's pen game's real good. He can be a challenge for anyone that's on his way

Bnas-
Aggressive & Awkward execution. His pen game doesn't hang with the best on here and I think he'll reach the 2nd round with a favorable draw.

D-Trix-
An entry coming straight from March's top 10. Like many 'snipers' he doesn't have the experience of battling heavyweights which is a large issue in THIS tourney.

AT-Es-
Mediocre delivery and lines. He needs to step it up imo if he is to get passed the first round.

Lockhart
Just made the transition to Audio so I don't really know what he can bring to the table. His proven his punches are good on text but how much will his execution hurt him is yet to be seen.

Nocky ~RRR~-

Another sniper that needs alot to work on. Can't see him get passed the first round unless he completely changes and steps up his delivery and punches

just make sure that shit SOUNDS good, alot of people have dope bars but cant make em come to life,anybody wantin to be a audio battler should work on delivery, honestly i'd rather be mediocre and sound dope as fuck than be dope as fuck and sound mediocre

That's very very true. This year we decided that it's best to make this a 32 Man Invitational tourney. Do you feel like this is a good idea or did you prefer the top 64 qualifying system?

i think 32 is alot better idea,, 64 always turns out to be a cluster fuck and 2 rounds of weeding out all tha no-shows...this way tha tourney should be dope from start to finish

MORE MIXTAPES! I'm hoping to have another out by the end of April, then another some time in July... I'll probably chill on one then and create something epic for an end of year release.

That's that dedication right there. Alot of people are feeling your tracks but they believe that your battling game is rusty. Are you going to silence the critics?

I'll do my best to. I mean, The only battle I've really had in the past couple of years was the 3 round TinyChat battle against Rohaan aka FAME'S BITCH but in all honesty, I didn't even try to write anything decent for that battle. I knew I could win it with minimal effort. If I come up against an opponant of a higer calibre, I'll try harder. I still believe I've got it in me, though.

I like to talk, this is why I suggested we do an audio interview. That shit could have been played on the LB radio or some shit. Not that half the people would understand anything I say, though. As for your question, with this being an invitational tournament, there's a lot of great emcees involved. Battles involving 2 of the following emcees will be really interesting to listen to; Fiji Osa/Phil Banks/Jason/Stricc/Ticket. I'm not sure where Ticket has appeared from again but it'll be nice to see him back in the arena. I'd probably say Phil Banks vs Stricc would be the best battle that could come out of this tournament.

Well this is the shortest interview of all time. A farvorite would be hard to pick for me with there being so many good battle emcees in the tournament. It could be any one of a number of people. I'm not gonna go down the obvious route and nominate myself for that spot. Ummmm, If I had to pick one name... Phil Banks. Other people who I could see taking this are AfterThought, M-Rock, Fiji Osa, Dono, RULE, Jason, Ticket and Stricc. Any one of those guys, but, I guess Banks would be my out and out favorite. Also, I have an issue to address... Why doesn't Stricc spell his name with a capital letter? Like, it makes me think he's tryna downplay his own importance or some shit. That isn't a good look for a rapper and needs to be fixed.

Manhattan, you are one of the most respected new cats on the text side but you are about to enter your first audio tournament.. How do you feel?

Thanks fam and I feel pretty good. I know I'm not going to win it but I want to have fun and get some dope matches in. I'm starting to climb over to the audio side.Not my first audio tourney though I was in the audio scheme and Ray no showed me first round and than I no showed man down when I was away for that weekend

Well hopefully you get to battle in an official tourney this time. Would you like to battle with vets from the get go or do you prefer an easier path to the later stages?

I would prefer facing someone easier at the start for sure but I'd ike to battle and audio vet for sure

I feel you. What expectations do you set for yourself in this tournament?

I just want to get a couple of dope audio battles in for sure and at least get past the first 2 rounds haha a lot of dope heads in this tourney

No doubt No doubt. How hard was that text to audio transition for you?

The transition wasn't too bad I mean I started with freestyles but it's been hard for me to really find my delivery and just to be comfortable on the mic. I feel I've been improving though and my writtens sound a lot better than frees over the mic

i just capitalised at a time where i was very motivated to improve and get better. i think i was the start of a new generation after many of the older guys left. i took that and ran with it and it resulted in some good wins. i don't think my verses back then were particularly great. i think I've since then stepped it up a whole lot. people need to understand titles are not that important. i won my titles when i wasnt at my best. id take the way i am now over the way i was when i won my titles. skill over everything

I'm starting to climb over to the audio side.Not my first audio tourney though I was in the audio scheme and Ray no showed me first round and than I no showed man down when I was away for that weekend

Well hopefully you get to battle in an official tourney this time. Would you like to battle with vets from the get go or do you prefer an easier path to the later stages?

I would prefer facing someone easier at the start for sure but I'd ike to battle and audio vet for sure

The transition wasn't too bad I mean I started with freestyles but it's been hard for me to really find my delivery and just to be comfortable on the mic. I feel I've been improving though and my writtens sound a lot better than frees over the mic

I've seen popularity/politics/hate votes decide winners in online battles enough times to know you should never feel too "comfortable". Just try ya best and hope for fairness. With that said, I'm confident in the possibility of repeating with what I'll be bringing to the table.

The level of competition in this tournament is tight. Who sticks out to you as a favourite to win?

Yeah the list is stacked man. I think the people like myself, stricc, ticket, banks and Jason, who have done it before, have the best chance.Consistency is the key in a long tournament like this. Can't count out dudes like Fiji,Dono,Man Down, or Final either. You, Afterthought, and schematix could make nice runs but that's only if yall show up . Manhattan and Rule are stronger with text but they could also pull off some shockers. With the talent on this list, this gc winner will add a few big wins to their résumé

Anyone I haven't already written for for a battle/diss track. Although I don't see a scenario where I'd win without that happening at least once anyway

Its a shame cause its probably my favorite verse I dropped on here to date and noone got to hear it. I can't control who I face or who no shows. I proved that I deserve it for 6 rounds

I was referred to the site by Boro in 07 after he joined. After checkin it out I decided to keep battlin on soundclick and a couple other sites because I liked the track vs track format better. But every other site has slowly died and lb has made some improvements with adding beats and download options. My first battle on here was actually in march or April of 2013 so I've only been active here for around a year
