"Why Should I?"

Early on, you can say that it was easy at first.
Your smile was always pleasant, it was cheeky and smirked.
Your angelic features always had me repeating a verse.
So it's ironic that we had our first meeting at church.
When we started to be serious, I would open eyes and awake craving.
To be your soul's entity, the heart of your safe haven.
Us together? There was never a moment that's dull.
I found you open minded and made a home in your skull.
You loved me so dearly, you had your hope it was tall.
That was why I had invited you to go to the ball.
That was our night, yes the time it was our's.
You wanted me alone, nothing else, not even buying you flowers.
I was afraid to close my eyes, I'd make a blink and I'd miss it.
Then I started to notice there's a kink in the system.
I felt an underlying prescence, it would shrink and rip skin.

I noticed that day that we were treading the waters.
We would be better off if he was dead in his rocker.

20 years later after saying my goodbyes,
