I understand this criticism ^^^ and agree for the most part.

Breaking Bad is successful because it incorporates more action than other dramas, but perhaps that is what makes it a bit cartoonish. 'The Wire' is a bit more real, but I can see how it could be less entertaining. Cartoons tend to be entertaining, so having a bit of an unrealistic or fantastical quality makes complete sense for a show like Breaking Bad , because it isn't as successful at the drama side imo.

And, please excuse my excessive use of the word cartoon.
