It's this dude Dave Eggars's memoir. Both of his parents died of unrelated illnesses within like a month or two of each other, so when he was 18 he became basically the sole guardian of his 9 year old lil' brother. However, he had a sister that was around his age who felt like she was portrayed unfairly in the book. She took her life because of it, and now he refuses to speak about the book in any forum.
The book is really interestingly written though and I found it really different and enjoyable.

Although I haven't read it, that book Unbroken (i think) is supposed to be another amazing story of a SEAL that was lost at sea for weeks and survived.
