I used to say this aswell. The whole "generation gap". Your parents hate your music, you hate the current generations music, and so on and so forth.
That was until I actually started reading shit on here again. Mikey DeNiro isn't spitting that much better than he was in 2007, reEFer is the most overrated all time to me, Mind Fuck and Grizz are VERY inconcistant, and I'm not feeling much from either. Haven't read too much from Erupt or Diss. RULE doesn't have the all time great verses of others, but he spits incredibly dope keystyles in seconds. Actually one of the greats. AfterThought is on his way there too. His imporvement since I battled him 6 months ago is insane, and he wasn't half bad then.
I said it in another thread, but the issue is this "vet" shit. Everyone is sucking each others dick, so no one even gets criticism. It's always "dope verse, you're amazing". This is the EXACT shit that happened with Cash One etc. back in the day. No one wants to improve, and when you finally do get someone coming in and dropping some 'negative' feedback, they almost reject it and assume you're just hating because it's such a stark contrast. Might sound like I'm talking about my crew as always
, but that's one of the things I like best about ACs. In the last few months we've been getting a lot of attention, text and audio, and it changes nothing. No one considers themselves to be beyond elevation.
And I wasn't meaning like you never left your mark. If you'd won GC in 2007, you'd be undoubtabley HOF. An example of the shit I was talking about above is like RhetoriK. Dude ran DPS, a crew full of nobodies and up and comers. He beat UA, and then all of a sudden he's beeing hyped as one of the best on the site, of all time, and everyones hopping in his crew. I think he even beat UA in the same round I beat you back in the day. That did NOTHING for me. All that did was have me pull off a fluke win. People wouldnt join a crew that I was running automatically then. If I was ever to be considered one of the best, I'd have had to knock off Top Notch, UA, Illy, Chizz etc. Not just beating one legend (you). It's the whole everyone loves everyone mentality which means people think they are above what they are.
