the rating system is really rather pointless in terms of the track section, i think we should abolish it completely. you cant see the ratings, the ratings are usually bogus- the give either a false sense of enhanced abilities on the mic or (with the system you proposed) .. they will give a discouraging sense of your abilities. i dont see that it serves any real purpose
the essential part to any rating system is the comments themselves. the numbers dont matter so much as everyone rates them differently. but the comments cannot be quantified, they're unbias and are the only REAL helpful tool for improvement.
who cares if you got a 4,5,6,7, or 8????
someone really educated on hip hop could rate you a 5 and drop an insightful comment, while someone else could give you a 10 and drop nothing of value. where did you gain? you gained from the comment... not the 5 or the 10 rating.
people see a comment and a rating and often the two dont add up- why not just cut out the ratings entirely? that way people focus on writing something helpful instead of using a number to communicate their thoughts on the song? ratings are a copout, they make it easy not to write anything of value on the comments because they know people just care about a high number. eliminate the numbers.. that way people will have to write out how they feel
Altho all true, the likelihood of an actual coding change (removing rates altogether for example) is small. People come up with a hundred great ideas daily on here, but what we need to focus on at the moment is what to do with what we have, not what we want.

And at the moment have have a numerical rating system.
