I'm going to update this thread with current films I've watched.

1) mother

Language: Korean
Writer/Director: Joon-ho Bong

Just watched this film last night and it was bizarre in the best way possible. It's about a mother who has an unhealthy relationship with her somewhat mentally ill son. When her son is arrested for the murder of a young woman and essentially framed... the mother sets out to find the real culprit behind the crime, prepared to take down anyone in her path.

RATING: 9/10

2) LIMITLESS

Director: Neil Burger
Writer(s): Leslie Dixon (screenplay), Alan Glynn (novel)

I personally felt like this movie fell way short of anything substantial. It started off quite well with an almost whimsical feel, leading me to think it would be a strange and curious film with a good commentary behind it. Not at all.... Soon after it fell into the typical Hollywood structure, which to me isn't a bad thing... BUT it is when the plot is horrible. I didn't care about him being a writer and he didn't either apparently.... his stock market job is dull and boring, and he has no redemption what so ever.

If there is a commentary to this film, it could read as: "Do drugs and things will eventually pan out in the end"

RATING: 3/10
