what do you do first do you write the song or do you pick out the beat..which is easier

i tend to do both if i write then ill put tha song to a beat but sometimes i need to the beat to help myself write
I usually try to find a beat first... When I hear the beat, I try to match its tone and come with a song that fits the beat perfectly. If it sounds deep, I'll get deep on it. If it's a club song type of shit then I'll be on my witty punchline shit, if it's one of those classic beats that you have to murder, then you know you have to write a verse that murders the beat.
